Perfect World Eras[]
In the Perfect World, there have been many eras over time, including the World Creation, the Age of Emperor Collapse, the Immortal Ancient great Era, and the current era of the Chaotic Ancient Great Era. Each of them plays a pivotal role in the series and is repeatedly mentioned from start to finish.
World Creation[]

Age of Emperor Collapse[]
This era began with the tragic story of the first known Unknown Quasi-Immortal Emperor who ventured beyond the Boundary Sea to face the growing darkness. He was ambushed by three Dark Quasi-Immortal Emperors—Cang, Yu, and Hong—and killed. Only his footprints were left behind at the dam that marks the edge of the Boundary Sea. His death symbolized the fall of that age, and no new Quasi-Immortal Emperors appeared for a very long time. Because of this, it is remembered as the Era of Fallen Emperors, a time of decline and hopelessness.
Immortal Ancient Great Era[]
After the collapse of the Fallen Emperor era, a new cultivation system took shape. This was the era of the Perfect Dao-Seed, where the purity and strength of one’s seed determined the possibility of becoming a Buddha, Immortal, or even higher. For a time, this created order and progress in the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths. However, this era ended when darkness returned. The foreign realm invaded, cutting the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths into nineteen separate regions and severing their connection to the Immortal Domain. With their cultivation system broken and their lands shattered, the Ancient Immortal Era came to an end
Chaotic Ancient Great Era[]
This is the era of Shi Hao’s life. After the destruction of the Ancient Immortal Era, the world was left in ruin. The Nine Heavens and Ten Earths were broken, connections to the Immortal Realm lost, and cultivation paths fragmented. This age was filled with war, slaughter, and chaos. It was during this time that Shi Hao, the Desolate Heavenly Emperor, arose. Through endless struggles, he fought his way to the peak, defeated the Dark Quasi-Immortal Emperors (Cang, Yu, and Hong), and confronted the apocalyptic figure known as the World-Ender.
At the climax of the story, Shi Hao performed the legendary act known as “Cutting Off All of Eternity”. He broke through time and causality itself, severing the old cycles of existence. By doing this, he destroyed the decayed order of the past and opened up a completely new age above the heavens. This marked the true end of the Chaotic Ancient Era
Eight Regions[]
In the setting of Perfect World, the Eight Regions are regarded as the Lower Realm. This area is divided into eight realms; the sky and the earth are dark and yellow, and the universe is primitive. Each of these regions has vast territory, and an ordinary person cannot traverse a region in the course of their life. The Lower Realm is utilized as a prison for ancient criminals and their descendants, descendants of the seven kings of the ancient Wildlands, true descendants of the Immortal Kings. Their ancestors were imprisoned due to a misunderstanding and condemned as "Sin Blood." The laws of heaven and earth are severely lacking. Additionally, every few years, the leader of the upper realm arrives in the Lower Realm and captures powerful men above the Venerable realm, leaving the Lower Realm godless. The eight regions are Heaven, Earth, Mysterious, Void, Space, Outer, Flood, Wasteland.
Nine Heavens and Ten Earths[]
In the Perfect World setting, the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths are considered part of the Upper Realm. Before the end of the ancient era, the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths comprised a single domain known as the Ancient Kingdom of the Immortals. However, during the war between the upper realm and the foreign lands in the Immortal Era, the continent was divided into nineteen pieces. Since then, this kingdom has been split into two regions: the Nine Heavens and the Ten Earths.
Foreign Realm[]
Foreign Realm is a continent infected with strangeness and unknowns. Their minds have changed, and they believe that the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths side is a demon and are determined to attack them. During the Immortal Ancient Period (the era in which Liu Shen lived), the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths repelled the Foreign Realm and paid a heavy price. The world was destroyed, the Immortal Kings fell, and the combat power against the Foreign Realm decreased. Blocked by an abyss, the original imperial city was built by the powers of the upper world to protect it. The ancient and legendary congregation came to guard this city.
Immortal Domain[]
Immortal Domain have complete laws and the same general environment as the Foreign Lands, which make them suitable for cultivation. However, they rely on their detachment and believe that the upper Realm is infected by the restlessness of a Foreign Land and are unwilling to interact with it. They close the door to the fairy world and would not act if it were not for the life and death of the Upper Realm. There is a road that leads here to paradise, the legendary Imperial Road. All the best experts here go to Jiehai to find a way to become emperor.
Burial Domain[]
Burial Domain is also a group infected by strange and unknown things, but they have no intention of invading the Nine Heavens and Ten Earths. They sleep for long periods in their lives, and some sleep for an era. They do not fight with the world and work hard only to become stronger, seeking the imperial road.
Sea Realm[]
Sea Realm is a boundless sea with countless islands and small worlds previously with civilization before the darkness. It is connected to Immortal Domain and the Foreign Realm. There are two sections of realm sea the outer borders and inner, it is noted that in the past it took a normal Immortal King several great era aka three million years of travel just to enter the inner section, the stronger the creature the shorter the time. Realm Sea contained too many secrets, especially at the very end, beyond the Land of Darkness.
Small Realms[]
Throughout the series we see Small Worlds that has either been created by powerful individuals or naturally created from the heaven and earth laws, Some larger than others.
