APEC ROES-50 vs ROES-100?

I'm finally buying a RO system and was going to buy ROES-50, but discovered that ROES-100 is a 'newer' version with 1:1 waste ratio and 3/8" tubing for faster flow.

If you guys had to chose, would you buy ROES-100? Everything about it sounds nice but is the fact it's 3/8" tubing (I believe that's only for the end of the system) make it more difficult to find parts/filters if something goes wrong? I also don't know if the whole 1:1 ratio is actually true but I assume it has to be better than ROES-50?

Out of curiosity, what made you decide on those two options? I feel like those are the best "amazon value" choices, but there are probably better options depending on what you are looking for specifically.

It's honestly just from reading on reddit and lots of reviews online, so no crazy research or anything. Do you have any recommendations?? I would love to hear any opinions.

I don't have any specific needs for water treatment. My county water is decent and I currently use Berkey gravity filter, but I don't have good space for Berkey at my new place and thought RO was a good option for clean water.

Did you end up selecting a system? How do you like it? I was between the Apec 50 and 100.

hey, sorry for the late reply. But yes, I did go with ROES-100, I also installed the permeate pump with it for even faster flow and less waste.

I will say, I haven't directly tested the amount of water waste so I'm just assuming it's not as wasteful as ROES-50? Plus my water bill has been relatively the same.. and my water flow is excellent

But I've been using it for about 5 months now and we love it with no complaints. Bought couple years of filters on Groupon on a random deal I saw, so overall a very low cost system and awesome tasting water. Highly recommend it.

Bought the ROES-50 and was impressed with the results. Only three people in the house and we use it for drinking and cooking water so the capacity is more than enough.
If I had to bitch about something it would be my decision to mount the backflush drain tube above the trap instead of the cross drain. It makes the trickle noise when it is backflushing the RO membrane more audible. No other complaints though. Water quality is excellent.
