What’s a good Bluetooth headset for someone who takes a lot of calls during the day?

General

My father takes a lot of calls — during the day, in the lab, around machines, even while driving. So I’ve been planning on getting him something small, not in-ear, with good battery life and a strong mic that can handle loud environments (like next to engines, vacuum pumps, etc.).

I personally use AirPods for noise cancelation, but that’s not really his thing.

Don’t care about budget, just want something that’s good quality and built for this kind of use.

Figured some of you older folks might know something I don’t, despite all the research. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I forgot to mention , my dad wears glasses , so I feel like if it sits on the back of his ear, might not be comfortable. Maybe some of you might know the struggle .

I am very fond of my Shokz bone conduction headphones, but they might not be great in loud environments.

Also a fan, but they are easily overwhelmed in loud environments because your ears are open to the world. I use them when I want to be able to listen to music and take calls while maintaining awareness of the world around me. When I want to be oblivious, like on a plane, I use in ear with noise cancellation (don't worry, I'm not the pilot).

Truck driver here.

I have a Blue Parrot 450-XT and it’s awesome.

Sound quality and battery life are great. And I wear it all the time, even when at home.

Do you have long conversations with other truck drivers or is this to keep in touch with HQ?

I've had an Anker soundcore q20 for like 6 or 7 years now I think, still works great

I liked it so much I bought another pair. Cheap but solid.

My hearing aids tbh. I'm 35 and i blew out my hearing while at war when i was 25. The latest generation of hearing aids are rechargeable, 20hr battery regular use and maybe a little less with heavy streaming use like listening to audio books or music.

While streaming music or whatever, you can lower the volume on the device and it'll decrease the bt volume while increasing the ambient sound and vice versa. The microphone for talking on the phone is great. The audio is crisp and tailored for my hearing loss. Ever since they have become commercially available, they got way cheaper, too. I think currently they are between $2-4k depending on retailer. The conical ear piece is very comfortable and does not need to be sized although the wire does need to be sized so that it fits the ear properly. Also the audio needs to be tailored to the listener. No one knows i wear them unless i take them out to show them

phonak audéo is the ones i wear

Poly Voyager 4320 UC
Best business headset I have ever used. I can wear them for 8 hours no problem.
I have actually worn them home by accident.
Not too expensive either.
