VMWare Fusion Personal on Mac with Apple Silicon can't run Win11?
Hello,
I switched to a Mac with an M1 Max Chip and now I can't boot into Win11. Any suggestions on how to get this working?
Error message: This virtual machine cannot be powered on because it requires an X86 machine architecture that is incompatible with this Arm machine architecture host. See KB-84273.

Use the built-in “Get Windows” feature, we put a lot of love into it :)
There’s a button for it in the New VM dialog screen.
how is it different from the windows 11 ISO on the MS website?
Your error message tells you - that's not AMD64 or x86 that you're running on. You're on ARM64.
create a new windows 11 vm with the download windows 11 button on the start page of fusion
If you have a pre-existing Windows 11 VM, it will not work on a system with the new M1 chip.
You need the Windows 11 for ARM install. It will not work with Windows 11 64-bit.
You aren’t going to be able to. You need Win11 for arm.
Never tried it, but I hear others talking about it and they use:
https://mac.getutm.app/
What everyone else said, and you should know the same applies to Linux OS as well. M-series processors are all ARM64 architecture so choose ARM64 versions of the OS.
That said, the ARM64 version of Win11 running as a VM will run x86-64 Windows applications.
The built-in feature doesn't work with Apple Silicon most the time. You need to start the CD/DVD first, and reinstall Windows from there.
Same issue here!
Just with a linux vm of a vendor OS that is x86 based :|
Help would be much appriciated - what do i do in this scenario?
Why does the creation of a virtual machine force you to type out the key?!? Why would you not allow that field to copy paste??? This is insane.
Comment utiliser des versions anciennes de Win (win 7)?
Found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcSHH_kppIw&t=212s . Working for me.
I have a Win 10 bundle that has key software loaded. Copied from another machine. Is there no way to run this VM on a mac with Apple silicon?
I install everything correctly but when I press the play button and get to the "Press and key to boot from CD/DVD..." and I do it just goes right back to the play button. Any one have a fix for this?
I have a problem... i can't sop7pause the windows virtual machine created... and it don't work anymore. What can i do?
