Moving Sonarr to a new computer

unsolved

I hope somebody could help me with this question.

I moved Sonarr to a new computer in the past by saving NzbDrone folder from ProgramData directory, installing Sonarr on a new machine and then replacing the NzbDrone folder with the saved one.

I planned to do it again this time, but now the directory in ProgramData is "Sonarr", and simply replacing it with the old NzbDrone one does not work.

Can I replace the content of Sonarr folder with the content of NzbDrone, bin directory etc? Or how should I do it?

Thank you for any help.

Don't do that.
Open Sonarr and click System>Backup then click "backup now" to ensure the backup is new then click the newest backup and copy that file to to the new computer where you will click "restore backup" on Sonarr and select the backup file.

Thank you. I used the advice below, simply because I did not want to connect the old computer again, but I will remember your suggestion as well.

Sorry, I don't post much on Reddit. I tried to edit the post to change the flair to "solved", but couldn't figure it out.

Just reply to someone, anyone, saying “Solved!”.

NzbDrone is Sonarr v2 which has been unsupported and end of life for over a year.

Can I replace the content of Sonarr folder with the content of NzbDrone, bin directory etc?

No because Nzbdrone is not supported

simply stop sonarr, place your legacy db named nzbdrone.db, delete sonarr.db if it exists and replace the config file (config.xml) with your backuped one and in the appdata folder and Sonarr will handle upgrading the database

Thank you very much, that worked!

P.S. Just for the sake of anybody who may find this later, don't forget to rename nzbdrone.db to sonarr.db.
