Is there any way to download more than 1,000 images at a time from iCloud photos?

Question/Advice

I've amassed a 6 digit number of photos/videos over the years, and i'm looking to back them all up on my computer so my phone's storage can breathe a little (i keep the originals on my phone + backup to icloud). Through icloud's web interface, i am able to easily ctrl+a all of the photos, but upon clicking download, i'm told that it's limited to 1,000 photos at a time. I feel like there has to be a more efficient way to download ~20k photos than manually doing it in batches of 1k, and having to make sure the selection of photos don't overlap. I also don't think my poor browser could handle the ~150gb download stably. I've used jdownloader before, but i don't know if it's capable of dealing with icloud's clunky website, nor automating the process that's needed. I know most people here probably don't use icloud, and it isn't my first choice either, but does anyone have any advice/experience with this?

You can request a copy of all your photos (and other data stored by Apple) in a single archive (similar to Google Takeout).

How?

I must thank you!!

This has totally saved me. I have the 2tb plan with 100000+ pictures and 8000 videos.

I usually go to my system tray and click iCloud icon then on the pop up click download photos…then check the box for all photos and then click download.

That button doesn't exist for me, and according to this article, "This method may no longer work"

edit: Never mind, i got the button to appear by enabling this option in icloud's in-app settings, which imo, barely conveys that it allows access to other device's photos on pc. Apple really seems to give its windows software the step-son treatment. Ah well, thank you for pointing me in the right direction, i had already given up on that until you rekindled the thought

I had to install iCloud for windows to download over 10k of them. Was still a pain in the ass

It’s easier to export from Photos, presuming you use the OSX version of photos and not just the iOS one on your phone

will this download the original hi-res versions from iCloud? even if originals aren't saved on your computer?
