Using Windows Server 2022 for gaming?
I've got some Windows-exclusive games that I'd like to play, and the only machine in the house running Windows is my home server box. It's got a GTX 1650 in it that's mainly used for transcoding video, but I figure it'd able to play games in the evening when it's not under much load. Is there any issues that I might run into while trying to do this?
Yes..its like regular windows, im using server 2022 and i play games and emulators normally..but make sure you have the latest gpu drivers installed on your machine.
Yeah, went after it a couple days after posting. Slight annoyance of a lack of MS store, but feels like it might actually run games faster than other editions.
I think Windows Server 2022 will be a good choice for my unsupported Win 10 machine , that will end support on 2025
If I can uodate from 10 to Server without reinstall tho
Server is separate, and I don’t recommend it for only desktop use. I’d suggest you either keep riding with 10 past EOL, or check out a Linux distribution.
