How to open rar files on mac? A reliable tool
Need your wisdom on opening rar files on my Mac.
I often deal with compressed files containing high-res images and project data. The built-in Archive Utility struggles with rar, leaving me in a bind.
Looking for a reliable alternative that won't compromise file integrity. Heard a few horror stories about corrupted files with some tools out there.
The ability to extract, organize, and navigate through rar files is crucial for me. The online solution doesn't work for me, tried it already. I handle a large number of files and this kind of solution is not appropriate for me. Expecting to get your recommendations.
The unarchiver or Keka are great at this
Keka
Probably one of the best. However, I no longer use Keka since I switched Finder to Commander One, which also works cool with archives.
If you grab Keke from the Mac store It’ll charge you, but if you grab it from the website it’s free
Keka.
I learned about Keka recently and it has been my go-to tool for anything compress/decompress.
Well, I use Commander One as the File manager but in addition it works with archives.
RAR support, as well as most other archives I might need.
Certainly you can use Bandizip for example, but for me the advantage is that one software contains multiple features, so File Manager + Archiver + many other tools = pretty cool.
I recommend looking more at user feedback rather than the large reviews on websites, that's in case you'll be looking for a solution in the various top peaks.
