UPDATE:
Thank you for everyone who replied with advice and kind words.
I reached out to his father. That is about the only family he has. I told him I was really worried about his son. Asked if he could please call him and check on him. I told him he may need to go to the doctor, but he is resisting.
His dad asked for details and so I told him what was going on. He was baffled. He said I was making a huge deal about nothing. And that he could not believe I was making him sleep on the couch over that. He was very harsh. And I ended up getting off the phone feeling terrible. He was absolutely no help.
I am getting myself into therapy to work through this with whatever happens moving forward. I have done a lot of thinking on this for the last few days. Especially reading through everyone’s comments. I honestly don’t know what will happen from this point but I do know that things can’t / won’t continue this way.
——
Husband got promoted at work. But it’s not a paid promotion it’s mostly pro bono. But he says it could lead to a higher pay position. Anyways. He is tired all the time lately with these extra duties at work. So he’s been less consistent with his hygiene. He has stopped showering as often.
His diet is awful. He won’t touch a vegetable. He eats a lot of gas station food, and a lot of fast food. It used to be that he would have really bad gas. Like curl your hair bad, open every window in the house and wait outside for it to disparate bad. He started taking has pills for it. And that helped.
But lately when I do the laundry I have been noticing huge stains in his underwear. It’s so disgusting. It smells awful. Sometime I can smell it when he walks around the house or sits on something. So I stopped doing it.
I told him it was unacceptable and foul. And he’s been sleeping on the couch for two months. He doesn’t care about showering. He doesn’t seem to care about his smell. He tries to guilt me about not sleeping in the bed. But I told him it’s his own fault. If he would just shower when he gets home.
I tried to explain how unsanitary it is. I told him I’m lonely from lack of intimacy, and not even being able to share a bed or space with him. I offered to go to the doctor with him, I asked him if he was feeling depressed. I even asked him if he would try therapy or counseling. I tried to get him to use a bidet. Asked him if I could help with his paperwork at home so he would feel less burdened at work. Everything I could think of.
He just brushed me off. He is insisting that I am over reacting. And that it’s normal for grown ‘men’ to have skid marks. He blames me for shutting him out. But I physically feel sick when I catch a whiff of him sometimes.
The nail in the coffin was that he told me..
“Sometimes when I fart I press my underwear against my butt to cheek and see if it feels wet.”
I told him that was it. I was done. The line has been drawn, and crossed. I told him I don’t see how we can be intimate again because I’m so disgusted by all this. I mean.. seriously. This is so childish I can’t even believe it’s happening to me.
I’m too embarrassed to tell a soul outside my home about this. So that’s why I’m venting it out here on Reddit.
I feel like this is not real life right now. But I’m so lost over this. I truly care for him. I don’t want to leave him, he’s my husband, we have a life built together, and I can tell he is struggling with something.
But if he makes absolutely no effort to fix the issue. And it’s effecting both of us. It’s not really fair to me. How long am I supposed to sit by while this continues. I don’t even want to go home half the time because of the smell as soon as I walk in the door.
The worst part is him gaslighting me about it. Saying I’m imagining things, that it doesn’t smell as bad as I think. That I’m making it out to be a big deal, when it’s not. Normally he is very receptive to my feelings, but lately he is just acting so defensive. We have been married 8 years, so it just crazy to me that things can change so suddenly. And it seems like he has stopped trying all together. I have heard that depression can do this to people. But he doesn’t seem to be in bad spirits at all, just more fatigued than usual.

Letters of Recommendation
Math Teacher - 8/10 Did very well during the class. Very nice and had good relationship.
English Teacher - 9/10 Was much closer to this teacher. I did a lot to stand out through group projects and other assignments.
Science Research Mentor - 7/10 Wasn't overly close, but still enjoyable talks and working relationship. Very nice during the mentorship.
These weren't outstanding relationships where we constantly talk and everything, but what are important things are being very proactive (office hours, assignments), professional (typical student/teacher relationship boundaries), being active participant, and be excited to learn.
Interviews
Georgetown (8/10) - decent, nothing crazy but a good enjoyable conversation
Dartmouth (8/10) - same as above
Rochester (5/10) - first interview wasn't used to it
Yale (6/10) - second interview still wasn't that ready, prepare your interviews guys
The College of New Jersey (10/10) - killed it
Albany Medical College (6/10) - was good, but a flubbed one question
Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (10/10) - amazing conversation
Zucker School of Medicine (5/10) - was honestly burned out by then so my voice was dead they could probably hear it, but I thought I answered everything well
Essays
PS: I talked about my time working as a therapy assistant and paralleled it to being in theatre as an actor.
Would mention that I had to write over 40+ unique essays and supplementals was really burned out by writing them all, but I also learned a lot about myself through it
I would say the focus I had was to show what was my thinking process, values, and how my experiences intersect with one another.

I have zero regrets. Advice though for anyone that also wants to do BSMD process:
Grades + SAT incredibly important (1500+/3.8+UW) - don't sacrifice them by stretching yourself thin over many ECs. Though I have a bunch my time was mostly concentrated on research, theatre, and therapy assistant (STEM, hobby/humanities, community service/medicine).
Research is very good for programs (not needed but I recommend) and participating in science fairs is nice added benefit, but you don't need crazy awards like ISEF, instead learn good lessons from it like how to stay adaptable and resilient even when experiments go wrong.
Essays: THERE are a lot of them. And the interviewer for New Jersey Medical School in open med school interview formats also gets to read them beforehand. Set time aside ideally in junior summer to really get to write all of them.
Shadowing: Very important to show that you have seen at least a glimpse of medicine. Calling hospitals is not the way, but find the emails of individual doctors and email directly. Another is if you have friends with doctor parents or connections and ask them.
Show both diversity and commitment. I really enjoyed working at that therapy organization, research, and theater. Theater isn't a med/stem EC and shows I have other interests I really enjoy. Show that you have tried things outside of academics and that you understand that a medical career isn't the only profession you could pursue. Find something that you really enjoy completely outside academics that you can talk about.
ECs that allow direct professional patient/person relationship: therapy work, customer service jobs, caretaker facility work. All of this can be useful to show that you've directly impacted and worked with people/patients in some ways more than hospital volunteering, EMT, etc.

A forum to provide dissemination of applied behavior analysis (ABA) and evidence-based research, assist the public in understanding the science, and to promote conversation between BCBAs, aspiring BCBAs, BCaBAs, RBTs, and others who are interested.

My center recently hired a young woman who is wildly unprofessional. She has no prior experience in ABA, which is not a problem, but she openly brags about how she didn’t watch a minute of her forty hour modules. She swears in front of clients— myself and other staff have spoken to her directly, and it’s been reported to both her BCBA and our clinical director. Nothing has changed. She doesn’t follow through on demands placed with our shared clients, inaccurately tracks mand variety (see: I’m so happy! Included in list of mands) which affects client outcomes directly. She jokes about how she won’t run certain programs and that she’s “leaving them for me”, since she has our shared client the block before I do.
She is a white woman and when I mentioned how adorable one of our black clients is, she said she always wanted a black husband so she could have “beautiful mixed babies”. She said this in front of her client. I was aghast and told my BCBA immediately but nothing seems to come of it. I’m at a total loss of how to handle this, since I am only an RBT and it really isn’t my place to continue giving her feedback/training if her supervisors aren’t. I am starting to lose ability to be cordial with her because she is just so fuckin nuts.

I've been seeing alot of deactivated acct in my circle and some just completed deleted it or in incognito mode, still have the acct but removed all of their posts. I'm curious if others is seeing this trend and for people who deactivate their acct, what's your reason?
I personally kept my insta super small and private. But even so, I don't feel like posting on there, muted a-lot of people's story and posts and has completed deleted the app on my phone and would occasionally check on my desktop. It has been refreshing for my mental health.
