Full Disk Access - is it safe ?
Hi,
I just installed app, not from the App Store and it asks me the “full disc access”.
So, is it safe for me ? What kind of the information they can access besides the apps needs ? In general is this a bad idea to grant access?
I have installed the “Little Snitch” and network connection has been made by this app at all .
Any help appreciated
Start without full disk access and see what breaks.
Generally only software that needs to read/write outside safe locations in your user folder should have full disk access enabled.
This is actually very interesting new app. It creates links for Apple Notes notes. Very easy just keyboard shortcut. I don’t have anything against the developer but who knows… Without full access it not working…
Having have the Disk access means they can see any file ? Or Notes ? I’m keeping my confidential financial infos in some files and in the locked Notes
Not sure why a firewall program needs full access and normally I do not allow it but this program has a good name and been around a long time so I would not be concerned on my machine.
So far, the only programs I have with full access are my backup program and the anti-virus...
I’m scared because all my government ID s and numbers freely circulating on the dark net as one gov agency told me.
i'm just wondering if it also gets access to safari passwords other then getting to ability to change safari settings
I don't think so
Apps used to have access by default so I dont see it as a big deal.
I’d be cautious though if its an app related to adult content, file sharing, hacking, etc as those may be more likely to be sus.
it’s Apple notes related app. It make links for notes to use as back links.
