what mac sftp client you are using (desperate searching for one where I can paste a path in)

For sure, check out Commander One—it lets you copy and paste file paths easily, which sounds like exactly what you’re after. It’s a dual-pane file manager with built-in SFTP support, so moving files around is pretty seamless. Also has a simple setup for SSH keys, which might save you from the usual FileZilla hassle on macOS. Might be a good fit if you’re after something close to Bitvise but on Mac.

Commander One requires full disk access without really explaining why. Probably legit, i get mac permissions are APITA, but this makes me uneasy.

Highlighted Commander One for myself in terms of SFTP operations.

What about the file transfer rate? And where can I read more about it ?

Oh, a fellow bitvise fan. I have no answer for you, but I'll follow the post curiously.

I like mounting sftp destinations as a file system with sshfs. Then you can use whatever as a file manager on it, Finder, Terminal, directly edit files with vim, you name it.

I know this, I also use Visual Studio Code directly on the server

but sometimes a good old SFTP client is much more nice to work with

I normally use FileZilla, mac just has no good options for SFTP it seems. Big fan of BitVise on Windows too!

I normally use ForkLift 3, created by binarynights. Looks and works way better than Filezilla

Forklift is a paid app right?

I think WebSSH does SFTP... Might be wrong about that though.

Super late but WebSSH currently does have SFTP and it works well.
