Constant "Private DNS server cannot be accessed" and internet drops
Itβs your network constantly blocking DOT or the port used by AdGuard DNS. Try using DOH.
I am using the public Adguard DNS via the inbuilt Private DNS setting in Android https://adguard-dns.io/en/public-dns.html configured via method #2. Do I need to download Adguard app to change to DOH?
Also, is there any reason network blocks only Adguard but not OpenDNS (both configured using same methods)?
how does Private DNS change from a domain name to an IP address does it not need a DNS server to do that? I think that is where the problem is. you can try the plain IP address numbers.
I'm having the same issue with my phone. The ad blocker appears to be working, but I keep getting the same message saying it's not working.
same issue here. Been a constant pain for months. I guess I'll try OpenDNS like the OP, and see if it's better. Bummer, since I really like Adguard, and was planning to buy a lifetime sub. :/
I was having the same issues on Google Pixel 9. After reading this Reddit, I switched from AdGuard DNS to Next DNS, and the Internet (both on Mobile Data and WiFi) is working now.
Go to Settings β Network & internet β Advanced β Private DNS.

Go to Settings β Network & internet β Advanced β Private DNS.
Select the Private DNS provider hostname option.
Enter c9ca5b.dns.nextdns.io and hit Save.
