Slow to load timeline

  • Frigate version 0.14 Beta 3 running in Docker.

  • Dell PowerEdge T130 running Xeon E3-1200 v5 @ 3.00Ghz, 8GB RAM.

  • Ubuntu 22.04 with only a few other containers for Home Assistant.

  • TPU Coral USB

  • CPU usage is around 25% according to Frigate

Fully understand this is a beta, so either take this as feedback or point out if this isn't normal please.

I find certain elements of the UI are just slow to load. For example when I click on a camera, the live stream loads quickly. But when I then select 'History' it takes a good 5-8 seconds for the timeline bar to load at the right. Does anyone else have this issue?

I know it doesn't seem like a lot, but when you switch between cameras and have to keep waiting for it to load it's a little annoying.

I think there was a PR after 0.14beta3 that significantly improved timeline loading for me.

https://github.com/blakeblackshear/frigate/pull/12070

How do I apply this PR? I've had a look within my Frigate docker container but I can't find any of those files edited in the PR to manually edit myself.

you should check the network tab of browser dev tools and see what part is taking a while to load. There are no known issues with slow loading
