LG C4 Network Connectivity Issues

Having issues with my LG C4 networking, no matter if I am hardwired with ethernet or via wireless.

Any app I choose (Netflix, Prime Video, Plex, etc) will initially say "Cannot connect to internet". But if I go to TV Settings > Network it says I am connected (all green). From here, if I choose Edit and toggle On or Off the "Get Automatic Address" then the app will work. If I do not toggle the "Get Automatic Address" and just back out, it will not work. Basically if I do not make the internal network reset in some fashion, it will not work.

I have been troubleshooting my entire home network with no visible issues. Changing IP Address does not solve it, neither does changing physical ethernet cable, or even performing a factory reset of the TV. My network hosts 20+ devices via ethernet and/or wireless, and are maintained through my firewall with no issues at all. I've even completely removed my TV from all firewall rules just to let it talk to whoever/whatever/whenever it wants and still have this problem.

Also during the time between the initial "Cannot connect" and going through the reset process above, my firewall shows the TV talking to a host of internet addresses. For instance if I were to attempt to open Netflix and get the "Cannot connect" message, I can see on my network that the TV is actually talking to netflix servers via:

logs.netflix.com
*appboot.netflix.com
secure.netflix.com
api-global.netflix.com

And then when I go through my outlined process to reset my TV's network connection, I can see the TV talking to these servers:

connectivitycheck.gstatic.com
*.googleapis.com
www.google.com
us.nextlgsdp.com
*.lgthinq.com
*.lgtviot.com

And after this, everything works (for awhile).

I will be contacting LG about this issue, but was hoping someone else had a similar issue and they were able to resolve it. Love the TV but this issue will be a reason to return it and look in a different direction for a replacement.

Thanks for posting this. I have the same issue. Have you found a fix?

I have not. Going to Network > Edit > Toggle On or Off Get Automatic Address will reset the network and I can do everything as expected. I have had no luck with any other solutions provided.

I am also having the exact same problem - my TV is LG C2 webOS 24 (23.20.58). It started with webOS 24 (23.20.58).

I have tried everything - but not found a solution.

I disconnect and connect the LAN cable - then it works for the rest of the day ....

I'm having the same exact issue, tried same things you guys have.

Tried with two routers, mikrotik cloud core and ubiquiti max. Both wifi and cable do behave the same.

Static ip, dhcp, different dns. Google TV works flawlessly in the exact same spot. Problem started around a month ago or so.

LG C3 in my case.

So don't think I add anything of value to the conversation more then we are more people having the issue :)

Frame it how you like it. With Photoshop's enhanced Frame tool, you can now frame an image in a custom shape or triangle. Plus, generate assets inside a shape.

I experience the same network issues with my LG C3. Only a network reset helped but it happened again. I also turned off the wifi connection and using only ethernet connection. But even with the ethernet connection I have these network issues. Sometimes it helps to turn off the ipv6, then it will work for some time. And when it happened again I turn ipv6 on again. I also try at the moment another dns server, though it is set from my Internet provider and not from LG, but I have had often problems with the dns from the Internet providers in the past.

Also experiencing video playback interruptions every 15 mins or so, Netflix, AppleTV and Prime. This all started occurring following the recent 23.20.58 update on my C2. WebOS 24 update has been nothing but problems, absolutely abysmal from LG. I have a support call in with them and will be chasing it at some point, their initial reply was pathetic, check cable, reset TV etc, even shared them this post 🥴. There has also now been a global outage to the App Store, that’s been going on over 24hours. My guess their backend servers are now overloaded, all the 2023 LG OLED’s being upgraded to WebOS24, I bet the infrastructure can’t cope with all the new connections polling, sending telemetry and connection requests to certain URL’s!
