Can auto-dimming be disabled on the LG C3 or Lg C4 like on LG C2 ?

I want to use it as a monitor , I’m considering getting the LG C2 because i know you can disable it with the. Service remote or has that been patched ?

If you're not displaying static content, you shouldn't notice any auto dimming on the C3 or C4. If you're doing desktop work and use SDR below 60 brightness, you won't even notice a white window growing from 10% to fullscreen dimming. If you display static content for several minutes, the screen will dim to prevent burn in. If you insist to disable this type of protection, you can try the Control Control app and enable expert settings to disable GSR and TPC but it can void your warranty (you don't even need the service remote) . u/frtls wrote a guide about it: https://github.com/fritolays/notes/tree/main/lg_oled

Using LG C4 as PC monitor, mode Game Optimiser, it dims everytime I watch content with subtitle showing up.
Annoying... but it is what it is.

It's well known that the c3 and c4 don't maintain peak brightness in game optimizer mode.
Have you tried setting the input to 'PC' instead?
I haven't gotten my c4 yet but it's on the way and I intend to use it as a monitor, so I'm hoping 'PC' input mode will be a good compromise but I have no experience as of yet.
That’s good to hear, I’m using a Sony a90k 42 as a secondary monitor and the thing dims all the time and I have to enable disable vrr and re-enable it to get the full brightness back as just moving the mouse makes it brighter but not the full 100%.
You can disable auto dimming, at the cost of early onset permanent image retention.
Use a good 3rd party warranty.
I have a LG CX 48 with auto dimming disabled since 2020 (as a PC Monitor). Got some dark spots burn-in that annoyed me. Got a new C4 with auto dimming disabled (thanks to GalonSSJ). 1 Monitor per 4 years is not that bad. Also the old one is perfectly good for casual TV. Gave it to my old folks. They love it.
been using it for 2 months and theres been 0 moments that it dimmed while i was playing/watching/browsing. is it still a problem for people?
