PSA - Sonos app alternative: Lyrion Music Server
The server used be called Logitech Media Server (for Logitech Squeezebox devices). It’s now community maintained and works great. It does need to be running on a PC, NAS, or Raspberry Pi.
It offers many audio source options including local music, internet radio, and connections to paid services, and with a plugin can stream to Sonos. Very customizable and free.
You can use the plugin called Material Skin and add it as a shortcut to iOS and Android devices to use as an Sonos Controller alternative. I’ve included a screenshot of what the interface looks like on my IPad.

I still have my Squeezebox
Getting your local music to Sonos with this would be a good use case
Thanks for digging this up. I'm going to devote some time to wrangling this.
My pleasure. I’ve been using it for many years and it’s very useful and customizable. Just takes a little time to learn but there is online documentation available.
Can You make a video about it? I have a lot of questions and if I see how it works then I'd have all the answers
-
Do I need Sonos app?
-
Do I install this on pc and phone?
-
How to play local file?
-
How to play preset radio?
-
How to play url radio (how to add my own radio)?
6 How it works? (volume +- ; stop/start ; next/prev)
