I bought two Carlinkit CarPlay wireless dongles 3 years ago and they have never failed me.
Yupp, it has it glitches here and there but overall works great!
This! I came here to say I had a carlinkIT 3 years ago and it’s solid, only reason I gave it to a friend was because I got the new carlinkIT- I have had no issues and it’s quick to connect
I also second CarlinKit 5.0 Wireless CarPlay, a solid choice for Wireless CarPlay, easy setup, stable connection, and minimal lag. Works well with most cars that have wired CarPlay.
I’ve bought a few Carlinkit 5 on AliExpress because they’re half the price compared to Amazon and it works awesome with my aftermarket Sony headunit.
I have a Carlinkit 5. It works pretty well with not too much latency. My only complaint is that it is challenging with 2 phones. The screen to select the phone at bootup doesn't always show, and when it does you have about half a second to select the phone before it just connects to the last one used.
That is why I have the carlinkit 4. That has the option to return to the selection screen when you press the car manufacturers button in CarPlay.
I've been looking at that one too but have not been able to find if it supports GPS pass-through or multiple users/phones. If you don't mind, any idea if it supports those features from your experience?
I’ve currently having issues with mine and was going to make the same request to see if I could find something better.
My current one does not reliably connect to my phone 90% of the time. Constantly telling me that the device is not found, and when it does find it I have to reset my Bluetooth on my phone to connect.
Looks like I’ll be ordering the carlinkit 5.0 and seeing if it’s any better.
I bought Magic Box 2.0 about a month ago and Wireless CarPlay works fine except for the input delay added by going wireless. It also does Hulu, Netflix……….
I've owned a couple of CarlinKit dongles and currently use the "5." I've had only one problem. When I run both GPS and an audio source simultaneously, the audio source will eventually stop streaming. The only way to restore it is to pull the audio source up on-screen, push Pause, wait about 5-10 seconds, and then push Play. I've changed some settings to lessen this problem, but it still occurs.
For comparison to your possible use, I drive a 2019 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid with wired CarPlay.
CarLinKit 5.0. On their site it’s like 60gbp but I got mine from AliExpress for 20gbp and it works perfectly, latency is just about under a second, a 60fps and very responsive screen, rarely lags and never has cut out
My question is: how easy are any of these to switch phones? We have one in our van and it’s a major PITA to swap phones.
Hi guys. I’ve got an after market wired carlinkit box. Does anyone know if a wireless adapter would work at all? Thanks.
