failed to connect to local tailscaled

Help Needed

Just installed tailscale (tried both manual and the automatic) but when I try to do "sudo tailscale up" I get the error

failed to connect to local tailscaled (which appears to be running as tailscaled, pid 3664). Got error: 503 Service Unavailable: no backend

I did get it up and running on a different raspberry pi on the same network, but want more redundancy like I do with wireguard.

What does it say when you run "sudo systemctl status tailscaled" (exclude the quotes) on the pi in question?

Did you reboot the pi after installing and try it again?

What OS version are you running on the pi?

You installed this directly on the pi and not doing anything with containers or anything correct?

At the bottom is the status, I have tried rebooting and enabling the service (starting it too) I am on Raspbian Gnu/Linux 11 (bullseye) I am not running any containers, I do have other services such as wireguard, pi-hole, and a unifi-controller running (none of which are in containers), but I did get tailscale to run on my other pi that is running wireguard and pi-hole as well.

Didn't have that exact path, had /var/run/tailscale/taklscaled.sock but that didn't work either, same error

Is the tailscaled service running?

Yes, if it's not it gives a different error and says to start it
