I use it for most of my clients. It is pretty darn good - nothing is perfect but currently it is my goto recommendation. Next year that might change. Most of my clients are execs and they are kind of like American Psycho in the conference room - who has the lightest laptop - then comes the thinnest, then the other items. Make sure to get the 4 year accidental damage. Clients always say - no my kid didn't trip over the cable - I just opened it up and the screen was cracked or you must have sent it to me with a keyboard full of coffee. I can't explain why there are cat bite marks on the screen - it must have happened in shipping.
I'm old so I got the 17" for myself. DO NOT - repeat DO NOT buy from LG direct. Amazon, costco, a white van at a gas station - all easier to deal with if you need to return it for any reason.
Thank you so much for sharing!
Rip on buying direct (they're doing a nearly 50% sale here via their website only, prices elsewhere are astronomical 😅)
I recently bought a 17” LG gram. Love how light and large the screen was. Didn’t like the sound (sound muffle) and the key board felt cheap. It boot up quick and was fast.
Ended returning it and got the Lenovo 9i 16” 3k screen. Love the sound (loud) abs screen. Only wish it was a 17” and is heavier than the LG Gram. Other than that it fast, keyboard feels like how it’s suppose to feel.
What's your price range? I just picked up an Asus Pro Art p16 for someone else at $1400. I'm really tempted to sell my Gram 16 Pro and go for this too.
It may not fit your use case but worth looking at it it does
Around 1,000 USD - in my region Gram 16 Pro is going for around that with discount stacks
I just got the 16T90SP model of the Grom Pro 16 through Costco. Currently troubleshooting why the 2 extended screens through USB-C KVM switch just stop working after about 2 hrs. Everything reverts to the main display, computer function is fine, network, keyboard, mouse and sound continue to function through KVM, everything switches to old laptop just fine. I’m assuming there’s something going on with heat at the moment. Still on the fence if I’m going to keep it or not.
I had the same requirements as you, with the addition of wanting a keypad. Might end up with an Envy or Spectre if I cannot figure out the KVM issue.
I wish I could say something else, but truthfully after 4 years with the LG Gram 16z90p, I find it incomparable to any other laptop in the market.
The truth is that after using a 16" 16:10 laptop at 1.2 kg, everything else seems small and/or heavy. This has changed how, where and when I use the laptop, which means any other laptop would need me to rethink that. No other that I have found, offers the following 3 things in one:
1.2 kg weight
16“ 16:10 aspect ratio screen
high performance professor and ram for the weight
My only complaint is that several keys on the keyboard have literally cracked into pieces. That said, I have been looking very hard for a replacement laptop, and anything I find, has at least one of the following worse than the LG Gram 16z90s (the current 2024 model:
as light, but smaller screen and/or lower performance.

It really comes down to your preference.

The new tb4 lg gram laptops didn't work with docks in our experience anymore. We had to return about 15 of them so far

Hi,

as large and performant but weighing almost 2 kg!
Hope this helps.
