People using the Xbox Elite Series 2, are you using the paddles?

Help / Question

I recently picked up the Elite Series 2 controller, because the disk dpad is really comfortable on my thumb and I am slowly getting used to it, since it has the option to use the back paddles, is there any use for them in SF?

Just be aware if you're ever interested in competing in official tournaments, you can't have the same action bound multiple times on your controller. So if you have LK on one of the back paddles for example, it can't be on any of the buttons or triggers.

Is the elite dpad more reliable than the Xbox series x controller? Feels like I’m missing HCF/HCB inputs all the time on that one

Absolutely not. The xbox series x controller has a much better d pad than the elite. The elite on both controllers, series one and series 2 has a magnetic d-pad. What that means is that sometimes the diagonals are very hard to get to come out and occasionally just don't even if you do the right motions because the magnetic d-pad is somewhat disjointed from the actual button. The controller that you have actually has one of the best d-pads out and available. I'm going to guess it's the cross d-pad with the slight dish around it. If that's the case then you just have to practice your motion inputs more because after testing almost 10 different pads for this game, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that the one you have is one of the best d-pads available.

Nah I don't use the paddles. I take the magnetic analogs off though when I'm playing SF.

If you have trouble with some of the face buttons or the trigger/bumpers, you can map those to the paddles.

Otherwise they're no use, you already have access to all the buttons anyways.
