From what I can see they still make the T6. They are just harder to get because “only professionals can get them”. If you are in canada I can send you a link on where to get them. In my opinion, they are still the best option.
I think it depends on what you are looking for in a thermostat. I used to have an Ecobee 3 but ended up disabling all of the smart functions and programming it all myself. I don't recommend doing this but I'm an HVAC engineer so I felt comfortable with it.
My current house came with a zoned system with two dumb Honeywell tstats. I was able to swap those out with the Honeywell T-6 Pro Z-wave tstats. They are just dumb programmable stats that have Z-wave. The best part was that they used the original tstats' baseplates so I didn't even need to drill anything or reconnect wires.
I set the programming on it depending on the time of day since I don't need the upstairs to be perfect in the middle of the day. But I WFH full time and my wife works 2 days per week so I don't mess with the occupancy programming that I could do with HA. Of course, I'm sure my electric bills reflect that.
FYI Honeywell still has the T-6 Pro on their website but you need to get a professional to install it. Or do what I did and buy it from Amazon. I think it's just one of those products that are reserved for contractors.
You should look into Tado. Although I'm not sure if it's available in the US.
It's a smart thermostat with smart radiator knobs with a built in thermostat. So you can heat each room individually with an app. Also links with home assistant
Yeah, doesnt look likes its available here :(
Believe a new nest has been announced with matter! So the integration might be easier at some point.
I may upgrade just so I don’t have to keep logging into my google dev account 😂
