So I've been using UnRaid for a while now, initially as my backup and non-critical storage. Lately I've been adding docker images to host non-critical services and media related things and really like the ease of doing it all. File management and sharing is easy too.
I have a mini-pc used for mobile homelabby stuff and small media hoster, currently running proxmox. Would it be stupid to instead run UnRaid even if the actually unraid part isnt being used and I'm only using a single (possibly 2) SSD?
I've used CasaOS before, it was OK. Lacking in the app store tho (yes I know I can run my own docker images). I thought about Ubuntu or Debian server running Docker/Portainer, again images will be manual and Im less familiar. Unraid just makes it too easy to install and get running.
EDIT: I still plan on keeping my main UnRaid machine for unraid duties (as-well-as my other 2 proxmox machines). I was looking for OS option for my mini PC I travel with (mini-mobile homelab server thing). It only has 1 or 2 SSDs, so unraid is over kill but would make life easier. But with recent price changes, its hard to justicfy.
