Is your friend.
We have seven clients with the ENVY 16-H00 series laptops i9 / RTX 3060.
These are mostly professionals, with a few everyday users. Findings as recorded during periodic inspection, or through client concerns. Here's what's been recorded so far
Surprising build quality
Excellent build quality
Superior performance
Quality screen
Better than average keyboard
Adequate memory
2x RAM was slow and inefficient, requiring nearly immediate upgrade
Could be lighter
Gets unnecessarily hot
Goes in the turbo mode opening a browser tab
Ridiculously hot doing absolutely nothing!
Battery life well below advertised
I believe my battery is defective
Shouldn't this last longer than almost 4 hours, just doing documentation and running Spotify?
Power brick gets excessively hot!
Smell coming from hot power supply
As a footnote, and some of these cases, this is quite common for any Alder Lake Mobile processor, regardless of OEM

Bro Thanks for sharing this info with me. Thanks a lot.
I still have questions. Why do some reviews I read say that the laptop is great and can even run games but in reality it's just burning. The body is burning the power brick is burning. It goes into turbo mode on opening a browser. WTH? This is a 1800$ device. Can you ask them about their laptop some other time once again.
How's the battery life. On normal use (Web browsing, Video Streaming) can it get till 10 hour mark?
How's the gpu performance. Does gaming on it while plugged into power gives best results. Can it be used to play AAA games with no difficulties?
As a student I am more concerned with the battery life. Normal use (no gaming) researching for studies, web browsing, video streaming, lecture taking. Can it hit the 10 hour mark.
Ten hours? More like six, on Power Saving mode, if you are lucky.
I have this but with i7. Solid laptop IMO. Makes noise though, sometimes.
It prob wont allow you to limit charge to 80% as hp has been withholding that feature without explanation for years, meaning whenever you charge your laptop over night the battery will degrade significantly more then when limited. Also my hp envy sometimes does weird noises when folding and the speakers started to make static noise from time to time. Chassy is solid otherwise. Oh and when i grab it by the corner and hold it level, it sometimes play pauses?
Not sure whey the original post was deleted, but I'll reply with my personal opinions on the 2023 HP Envy.
LOVE it.
Total cost after upgraded to 32gb (5600mhz) ram..
$1599
This is with the 2560x1600 120hz touch screen/ 4060 GPU /i9 13th gen intel.
Great value. Good performance. Definitely heats up when I run Diablo 4, Star Citizen and most other 3d intensive games, but the fans, to my knowledge, in 2 months of owning the laptop and using it every day, have never come on.
I mostly use an external MacAlly keyboard and logitech pebble mouse so I can't comment on the typing and the trackpad gestures (they seem fine to me).
The only real negative I've encountered has more to do with install Linux Mint alongside Windows 11 on this device. Needless to say, this device is a one OS machine.
Could you please elaborate on your issues with dual booting?
This laptop is now $1249 at Best Buy.
I paid $100 more than that before I purchased my memory upgrade. If you use the device as if it's a less expensive Macbook Pro...which can play any game at 1080p...that price is a steal.
