Pixel 9 Pro Fold vs 9 Pro XL
Did anybody else want the fold but ended up going with the Pro XL instead?
I really like the idea of foldables and usually go with them since they're just really cool, but after having used the 9 Pro XL for a few weeks, I kind of lost the desire to get the Fold.
Everything on the 9 Pro XL just feels amazing. Foldables are the only thing that makes me feel excited for new phones, but there's something to be said about how solid the 9 Pro XL is.

I went the opposite way and sent back my XL. Have the fold coming on Wednesday. I want one-handability and a bigger screen for use when sat down in one package.
Haad the One Plus open and sold it for the P9PXL.. Returning it for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. XL is the best pixel I've ever used but foldables are just way better for what I use my phone for.
I think I need to have a really bad experience with a foldable to ever go back to a slab.
I went from the OG Fold to the P9XL and have a P9PF on order. I'll likely cancel it and just stay with the P9XL. It's that good. I'll take another look at the P9PF when prices come down.

I have the Pixel 9 Pro Fold pre-ordered and am really enjoying the Pixel 9 Pro XL. One of the best phones Google has made.
I did the same thing. Preordered the fold during the reveal event then cancelled and got the XL because it's just too good. Fold would be so much fun but I'm probably opening it for 10% of the things I do on a phone. If I had a design job or hobby maybe it would be different. I might regret it when I put hands on the fold but I'm so happy with the XL.
I ended up changing my mind from the fold to the xl. I want the best cameras and battery life, personally. I think I want fold technology to mature a bit more so there aren't as many compromises
I don't think that's reasonable to compare fold and xl. It's a very different form-factor.
For me folding devices make me excited to use the phone again!

I've had so many top of the range phones over the last 28 years with mobiles and for the last 6 years I've been so bored with them so quickly. Foldables has me genuinely excited again so I had to get the fold. Yes, pro XL would be a solid, dependable, great phone. But just another in a long line...
