I’m in the military and stationed at a base in the upper Midwest. I’m looking for an extended stay option, and I really don’t want to settle for budget hotels like ESA. For personal reasons, I don’t want to buy or rent an apartment in this area.

I’m a Bonvoy member, and I really like Marriott brand hotels. Im looking to stay at a Residence Inn or equivalent property for a period of 8-10 months. The only problem is that I have a budget of around $1,800 per month.

I’m looking for tips on how to negotiate a monthly “rent” in this ballpark. Is this realistic?
