Month Long Stay

Rates & Booking

Will the hotels give you a deal if you book a month long stay? I usually use corporate code for my stats 4 nights a week, but wondering if I could get a deal and not have to leave for the whole month.

Just curious if anyone knows if they’re willing to negotiate (there are 10+ hotel options in the area) below corporate rate for long term stays?

Residences inns are tailored more to LTS

There’s one there that’s an option, don’t necessarily need the whole kitchenette. Would rather have the full 10x points, but worth asking about if they’d play ball

I recently spent 3 weeks at a Residence Inn.

Used Points to book a base room Studio. Called a few properties and found one that would agree to upgrade me due to Platinum status to a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath, 2 level "Penthouse" before check in.

I really enjoyed my stay, especially compared to the many other options I considered.

I'll add prior to this stay, I would have said 'You can't pay me to stay at a Residence Inn!'. I am more a W Hotel, Edition, or St Regis brand (snob) person. However, I could not justify spending 3 weeks of points to stay at those properties. I have millions of points, so it was definitely a choice to save my points for a, real vacation : Greece, Maldives, Bora Bora, etc.

Anyway, I would happily do it again.

I’ve done this a few times and never got a better rate than online when I called. In most states, you won’t pay tax on stays over 30 days which saves a lot though.

I tried this for a recent move and almost every hotel manager/sales manager required me to go through the website or reservation call center.

The world had enough surprises without worrying about your SUV tapping out early. Experian confirms that Subaru Foresters are built to go the distance.

You can, however you must contact the sales team member at the hotel you are interested in. I have good success in hotels who cater to the business crowd and not so much vacationers.

We stayed at a hotel for five months but had to leave at least every 28 days for three days. The manager worked out a pretty sweet deal with us that was not on showing on the app, but basically we timed it so many of our three day departures were at peak tourist three day weekends (MLK, President’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day) and effectively paid for four months by staying five. He got max dollars for our room and kept his occupancy rate up and we only did housekeeping twice a week…which is all I have at home so it was AOK with me. Some have a long term rate built in (Residence Inn in Sanibel and Tampa, and Fairfield Inn in Destin are some I’ve used) with a 31 day stay.

Talk to the manager. I once did 6 months in a residence's inn. He dropped by the rate so the 7 days were same cost as the 5. Helped greatly on the LTP status.

It depends some sales teams will give you a better deal. If you are traveling for business let them know as much when you are on the phone. I have had Residence Inns match Townplace suite's discount because they wanted me for my 3-6 month contract. It never hurts to ask. I would ask the sales manager which hotels they don't manage. You can call another location that may be managed by a different team.
