My server is having Kernel Panics once a week, how to investigate?

So, basically the title. I tried setting up syslog but nothing is showing up there so I am at a bit of a loss.

Once a week/ every two weeks my server just stops working and I have a kernel panic message on my connected screen.

Since nothing shows up in syslog I am at a bit of a loss on how to investigate the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running macvlan on docker? That caused me quite Some issues. Change it to ipvlan fixed all for me.

Will have to check it when I am back home. Everything is running on a unifi UDM, so no fritz box

Are you running a qBittorrent docker? That was causing my regular panics for a while.

Are you running macvlan on docker with containers on the bridge network? I tried changing to ipvlan and I had issues with my containers not having internet access after changing that setting however and I'm running nginxproxymanager in bridge mode.

Apparently having the containers on the bridge network can cause this issue as well. I haven't been running this long enough to know if it fixed anything (installed card on Friday), but if you have 2 ports on the server already it's worth a shot.

I found this: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/137048-guide-how-to-solve-macvlan-and-ipvlan-issues-with-containers-on-a-custom-network/

It wouldn’t hurt to run memtest to rule out faulty memory.

PiHole caused me quite a bit of drama. Whether it was that software or indicative of an underlying network hardware issue I’m not sure, but once I uninstalled it things dramatically stabilized.

could be a number of things.

Most likely, usb stick has some sort of corruption, connect it to a windows machine and perform a repair.

Could also be RAM issues if you have multiple sticks.

You need to post a lot more information for anyone to be able to even consider offering to help. What version of unraid? What containers? What hardware? What have you tried to narrow it down?

Sure, happy to oblige.

My server is running on 6.11.1

Hardware is: I7-4790 MSI Z87-G43 16GB Ram

Running: Quite a lot... Delugevpn Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Bazarr, Prowlarr Sabnzbdvpn Plex, Tautulli, Audiobookshelf, Komga, Mango, lychee, overseer
A few PostgreSQL DBs Homepage, Tailscale, Syncthing, Duplicati, Immich Ferdium-Server, nginxproxymanager, WebDAV, Joplin, mariadb, matomo, speedtest-tracker,

As far as narrowing it down I have not tried much except turning on syslog, but that did not help much. I have recently swapped hardware form a dual CPU system which had the same kernel panic issue but maybe only ovlce every month or two.

The issue appears at completely random times, sometimes in the middle of the night when I am not even accessing the server, so not sure how to narrow it done much. Thanks for your help.

Does it only happen overnight? I noticed I was getting kernel panics as well and I'm pretty sure its my mover at this point. I'm waiting for it to happen again now that I have mover logging turned on. I'm guessing the drive is dying and its time to replace it honestly. But that's just me.
