Any help setting up Overseerr, Radar and Sonar?

Hi guys,

I'm looking to automate it as much as possible instead of getting a bunch of text requests from my family members. Ideally so they can simply login into overseerr and automatically add whatever they want to watch.

I started the Overseerr setup process with a guide I found on Google but when I try logging into overseerr with my NAS IP I get a webstation not setup message on the page.

If you guys have any resources or guides for setting these 3 things up in Synology it would be massively appreciated! Newbie here trying to learn but clearly a little out of my depth.

Any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you

Just so you know, it's gonna run like shit. I tried it on my 920 and ended up buying a separate mini PC for Plex, Overseer etc as they were not great experiences running on the very limited hardware of the NAS.

I'm sorry to hear that. So far I've been running only Plex and I added 10gb of ram. Before I was running Plex on my PC and so far it's running quite smoothly on the NAS. Knock on wood that doesn't change.

Honestly, I'm just trying to learn my way around the navigation since I'm such a beginner. Eventually I'm sure I'll end up upgrading to 920+ or will do a custom build. Minimizing headaches and learning the ropes are priority at this point

I took some notes from this guide, installing the apps via containers on my 720+, and it is mostly automated as I still have not found why my qbittorrent most of the times adds the magnet paused and sometimes starts to download automatically. I setup qbittorrent, prowlarr, sonarr, radarr, bazarr, jellyfin and jellyseerr.

Thank you! I'll go through that guide tn

Do you mind if I ask why you use Jellyfin and Jellyseer vs Plex and Overseer? I'm not familiar with them

Do have qbit set to limit the number of active seeds or downloads?

If you plan to use docker and just want to get everything setup and running, first install docker through the package center, then you can use the trash guide script found here to setup up everything else automatically (hidden in automated script section)

https://trash-guides.info/Hardlinks/How-to-setup-for/Synology/

You would need to connect to the NAS via SSH (Google for ssh programs, i use bitvise client) to run the commands.

You can also refer to the above guide if you want to set things up manually

Then to access the services, go to the docker app inside synology > container > double click the app you want to access > under port settings you should be able to find the port number. Note it down.

Then just go to the synology local ip address 192.168.XX.XX:[port number without brackets] to access the service

I hope this helps!

Hey thanks a bunch! I appreciate the thought out response. It's getting late here so I'll definitely give this a go in the morning!

Thank you

Add Portainer through docker and use that for managing all the containers. You can go as far as setting up support for txt requests, but I found using a discord server with tautulli or Overseerr to handle requests was a lot easier to implement.

For the external access, look at setting up the reverse proxy within Synologys own settings - easy enough to do

Mines all run on a DS420+. It did have limitations from the start due to hardware restrictions. But I have since installed 2 500TB M.2s for Read and have added another 4GB of RAM
