Best Cable Modem for Xfinity to Buy?
I have xfinity 1.2gb plan and was looking to update to some newer or better cable modem as my old one is not doing that great. My download stream light is blinking (sec. led light from top to btm) and from my research is time for a new modem. I want to take advantage of the 1.2gb speed on my pc. (Had this from 2018)
I have a Netgear nighthawk cm1100 right now.
Thanks for your time.
***Update: Just ordered a Netgear CM3000 .

Xfinity is upgrading their network for higher upstream speeds (200Mbps). Currently a limited number of approved customer owned modems. There might be a newer list, but I haven't seen one.

Hitron Coda56 is the modem that is on the top of their certification list in terms of performance, as it is fully supported for Xfinity’s mid high split. Double-check the Xfinity “certified list” applicable to your Xfinity region.
The Arris S33 should be a good choice for your needs.
Those fuckin overheat just google s33 overheat. Still gets recommended like crazy on Reddit; must be some Good “brand ambassadors” On here
I bought a Motorola MB8611 in 2021 for this 1.2Gig plan.
The Netgear CM3000 is on the certified list and recently became available. I'd been waiting for that and ordered one a couple of days ago. The Coda56 I tried was flaky, and while the S33 I'm using is rock solid I'm stuck with a 10 Mbps upload bandwidth and if I run the Ethernet at 2.5 Gbps it dramatically drops the download speed for 1 Gbps hosts. I am hoping the CM3000 may improve the upload bandwidth and the 2x1 Gbps LAG ports it has (in addition to the 2.5G port) should fix the issue with 1 Gbps downloads.
How is using the Netgear CM3000 over Coda56?
I am considering a CM3000 as well. Just couple of days back I got CM2000 - was at the same. Not sure why I went with that - probably because Amazon had that one listed.
Only Netgear has the 3000 one listed.
I need as my promotion is going away, if I’m paying a rental service fee for $25 I might as well own something if I’m paying that, 2 years comes to about $400 for a modem. Would like to get one that has built in wifi
