Help with motherboard

So recently I got a used Ryzen 2700x and motherboard combo to replace my old 6th gen xeon.

Yes i know, i replaced something without an iGPU to something also without a iGPU but now i am about to pull the trigger on the 14500 and motherboard but I am stuck which to choose.
Gigabyte B660 AORUS ELITE DDR4 or ASUS PROART B660-CREATOR D4.

Use case is Plex server / file server / *arrs / 3 -4 vms.

Is neither an option?

You're doing yourself a disservice in upgrade potential. Especially if you are planning on 10gbe, HBA or multiple NVME. B660 is neutered on PCIE lanes and it only has half of the DMI lanes.

Gigabyte Aorus Elite, Gaming X or Aero Z690 (or Z790) boards are excellent and very, very well suited / laid out for a home server.

If you can find a 13500 cheaper than a 14500, grab the 13500. There is no tangible performance difference in them. The 14500 got a 200mhz boost in Turbo. They are benchmarking within 1.5% of each other.

I can get the 14500 for the same price as a 13500.

I have no plans for 10Gb but i do have a HBA > 8 sata.
Are B760's neutered as well? Gigabyte B760 GAMING X AX DDR4
