I went for the G9, can’t go back to anything else. Monitor’s gorgeous and makes a huge difference, even with 21:9 (I went from 16:9 to 21:9 then 32:9). It’s a huge productivity bonus, games look fantastic, screen is, whilst not the best, really good. Atm, OLED won’t take me away from the 32:9. I’ll just wait for OLED screen to come in 32:9 instead.

But in the end, it’s all up to you. If you get the chance to try one, do. You also need a quite large desk.

Just got a g9 Neo. The HDR is impressive - sure, the local dimming can't quite get pin perfect as as OLED can, but the panel can get brighter overall, so in normal lighting it's a bit of a push. There are some gremlins and niggles on the user experience end, but when everything is working properly, it's gorgeous, colourful, sharp and fast.

I bought the G9 about a year ago and I love it. It would be hard to go to anything else at this point. I like that it's pretty future proof, being the refresh is 240 and since it's similar to 4k resolution you're lucky to get 120fps on newer games. Should be able to upgrade your cpu and gpu once or twice before you feel like this monitor is lagging you down on performance.

I still run my G9, I have plan to upgrade to oled version of g9 when it hits the market - maybe in a year or two. For SDR its still one of the best monitors out there, I dont see anything that would buy over it - neo is only upgrade for hdr.

I got the regular G9 on a pretty good sale a year ish ago, love it; got a neo G8 recently and I only use my G9 as a secondary monitor, higher res and better HDR are too nice

Yes the Neo G9 is still a great route to take. I know it has gotten a lot of bad reviews but I havnt had a single issue out of mine. I know it seem Hardware Unbox gave it a bad review and just like the new G8 they hated on it as well. I replaced the 3 G7s I had with G8's and not a 1 has dead pixel or the freaky yellow spot Hardware sample had. I had a G7 as a side monitor for watching TV or video while I play on the G9 and my son had 2 G7 which he did the same used 1 to game and 1 to watch TV/Videos. I also think it will be another year or so until we see a OLED in the ratio/size of the G9. Then new 45" Bendable is a 3440x1440 and to me that seems a low of a res for that size of a screen. It would be like having a 32" 1080 monitor instead of 1440. Its also not going to be avail till late q4 or next year and I imagine the price will make the Neo and G9 look cheap. You cant always go by these youtubers out there as they are not always correct on the info they provide.

Depends on the use case. I have a G9 and I recently purchased an AW3423DW QD-OLED and the OLED is just so much more cleaner and 'contrasty', even in regular desktop use, I hardly use the G9 anymore. OLED really needs to get into mainstream ASAP.

Having said that, the G9 is a productivity beast. You just don't worry about space on that monitor while with my AW3423DW I am constantly minimising and adjusting windows and have to squint on occassion. Games feel more immersive as well as the monitor covers the whole FOV.

I just prefer the OLED because of the insane HDR performance, infinite blacks and how clean and high contrast the presentation is. Blacks on the G9 stick out like a sore thumb as greyish and on the OLED are perfect back and since my PC is entirely themed dark, I prefer the OLED.
