Is there any reason LG doesn't have a G4 42 inch?

Discussion

Is there any reason LG doesn't produce a G4 42 inch?

Like, is there any technical limitations with MLA/MLA+ that LG cannot produce 42 inch 4k G4s?

I am pretty sure there were some leaks about what display types (32 inch 240hz 4k and etcs) LG plans to produce in the upcoming years. Is there anything similar to it for 42 inch screens?

Its just a Question of Time and the C Series ( so the LG 42" C Series OLED TV ) gets the Heatsink and MLA too

The G Series has MLA

The M Series has MLA

the 2023 Z Series has MLA

The LG Display OLED Panel Monitors have MLA also since 2023

From the Flatpanels Article from early 2023 ( CES 2023 )

"MLA will later come to all panels.."

"MLA is initially applied only to 55, 65 and 77-inch 4K OLED TV panels as well as 77 and 88-inch 8K OLED TV panels, said LG Display, adding that it has the "aim of extending it to all lineups down the road"

https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1672899850

So whe must wait till the C Series gets also the MLA and i think that hapens when the G Series gets PhoBlu / PHOLED with much luck in 2025 ( maybe Hybrid PhoBlue / FloBlue ) but most likely in 2026 and then the C Series gets also the MLA and so also the LG 42" C

So its a waiting Game

But i hope that the C Series gets the MLA earlyier and i hope LG goes also on the TV side from WRGB to RGB like on the 2025 LG Display OLED Monitor Panels

I also wait for an 42" 4K MLA OLED Panel or an 42" 4K QD-OLED Panel ... my 2020 LG 48" CX OLED TV that i use since June 2020 as a PC Monitor comes slowly in his Age and i want much more HDR Brigthness ( especialy in 25 % and 50 % Window ) than my 48" CX can output so an 42" 4K MLA OLED or an 42" 4K QD-OLED is the next step for me ... untill then i wait

If the next G series come with blue phosphorus oled + rgb layout, damn It will rekt everything apart and my G80SD purchase will be obsolete. Please 2026 so we can enjoy our monitors bit more haha

why should they ? 42' is a entry level segment, and their G-series is the top line. It makes little sense from a TV perspective. Ppl who want to buy a 42' G-series are most likely want to use it as a high-end monitor (like you) and they do not want to make any internal competition with their own monitor business

G is not the top. I think m is

I don't think LG would bother unless Samsung went and made QD-OLEDs in that size then maybe?
