If all you want to have is VLANs on a switch, then installing OpenWRT is going to be overkill most likely. You may be able to find some switches marketed to businesses that meet your criteria. Many consumer-grade switches labeled as "easy smart" or something like that also have VLAN support.
Edit: The Table of Hardware does list some switches where OpenWRT can be installed though.
Yeah, the ones liste in the TOH are only a few that have at least 16 ports + POE and those that do have it are actively cooled. Yeah I wasn't sure if I need a Switch with OpenWRT since I have a Router already with OpenWRT... I was looking and it seems I can get what I want for like 200€ from Netgear for example. I just didnt know if I should spring abit more money and buy a Cisco or Zyxel switch.
any switch that fulfills these needs from fs.com right? :)
my personal favorite is tp-link they even have 1810g sfp+ fanless in the local stores and i can pay with credit card and faster than ebay usually 1-3 working days.... pro tip: aluminium cover and r/cisco alike cli....
I heard people being not satisfied with TP Link quality wise and the switches breaking soon after warranty... I assume that just a couple people that had bad experiences?
1810G is an HP Procurve model. They're fine switches, if they meet your needs and you can source them at an appropriate price.
The PoE+ Ruckus ICX 7150 c12 is a managed switch that's fanless and has 10G sfp ports if that fits your needs
Basically any "managed" switch supports VLANs. Just look for managed poe switches. You don't need anything fancy.
As another commenter stated, you don't need openwrt for this.
Get a decent managed switch like for example a cisco sg200 not netgear or tplink crap...
Use r/shagthedance's link to check what's currently supported, and for leading-edge development of the Realtek-based devices see here and the OpenWrt dev forums.
8-port fanless PoE switches are easy to find (cf. OpenWrt-supported Zyxel GS1900-10HP, D-Link DGS-1210-10MP, etc.) but 16-port fanless PoE may be a big ask. There are definitely no fanless 24-port switches with PoE.
