7900 XTX (reference) Time Spy Results
I’ve noticed that theres times where I run Timespy and I score the average 28k-30k GPU score but other times I come back to my PC after no changes have been made and I’m getting a 24k-25k GPU score….a large difference. This is with stock settings and undervolt / oc settings. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I know scores can vary but I feel like a 5k point difference must indicate something is going wrong.
Check your junction temperature, sounds like you could have the issue plaguing this card atm
junction temps have been fine, top out at 82*. thats why Im confused. sometimes a PC restart will bring my score back up.
I've seen similar run-to-run variance. HWiNFO64 itself may be playing a role. See https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/zv2z89/7900_xtx_and_hwinfo64_driver_crashes/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb
Additionally, the wattman settings seem to apply somewhat randomly. Driver issues undoubtedly.
interesting. ill test without hwinfo running.
You seeing this with the newest drivers?
yeah
hows the memory clock speed of the card in a bugged run ?
fast timing, 2600mhz max.
is discord running? ive noticed i lost like 4k points on my xt when something was using hardware acceleration.
no, all background apps closed
Sooo I‘m not 100% sure but there is a windows exploit protection that sometimes hard throttles 3dmark, another thing could be broken pci traces so that your card sometimes runs in 8x and sometimes in 16x mode or you just have a lot of (or heavy) background applications running. Well all of those have happened to me, so good luck finding the issue with your card 👍
no heavy background apps, everything is disabled when benchmarking. could you explain a bit further about the pcie issue?
