Resizable Bar is causing low gpu usage and huge fps drops.
Hello, I am new here and I wanted your help regarding this issue I am facing since I built my PC last year.
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: ASUS RX 6600 8GB
CPU: Intel i5 11400F 6c/12t 2.6 GHz
Motherboard: ASRock B560M Pro4/ac+
BIOS Version: 1.60
RAM: Corsair 16GB 3200 MHz CL16
Operating System: Windows 10 22H2 version 19045.2965
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenaline Software version 23.5.1
Description of Original Problem: I have low GPU usage and huge fps drop in games like RDR2 and FH5 in specific locations when ReBar is turned on. The interesting thing is that when I toggle ReBar off in the Adrenaline software; fps returns back to normal in those specific areas but the caveat is fps overall lowers without ReBar. I just wanted to know if this is normal behaviour or is there something I can do to fix it. Games are installed on an SSD with page file turned on. DDU has always been used before driver update. If needed I can also provide images of the problem with ReBar turned on vs turned off. This problem can be easily replicated in Appleseed Timber (RDR2).
Troubleshooting: I have updated the bios, tried GPU drivers from 22.5.1 to the latest version, have reinstalled windows but no dice. I have tried everything and looked at various forum posts here, AMD forums, etc but I have yet to come upon a solution.

Just found about this, I play alot of Fortnite and with Resizable bar ON it causes micro stuttering, I turned it of yesterday and all the stuttering went away, I also noticed the game now use more video ram memory, so it must have helped some to turn it off then.
also rebar tanks vram can see it here and also ive seen it for myself my game would constantly use 8gb of vram with rebar on at 4k fsr performance and with rebar off 5.2gb to 7.2gb
Just got this issue recently. For some reason the FPS drops and low GPU usage only were in my DX11 games. DX12, Vulkan, and OpenGL all ran fine. I didn't have any DX9 games to test but I'm sure it would be the same. So obviously disabling SAM in the AMD Software alone didn't help, so I had to go a step further and disable Resizable Bar and Above 4G-Decoding in my Motherboard Bios. After that, all my games returned to normal. It's weird because nothing was updated to cause this issue and rolling back on my GPU drivers didn't get rid of the issue. Oh well, I guess.
Just turn off the bar. Trust me. I've tried on multiple devices, and Resizable bar seems to be optimized better for pre-builds
Nah it depends on the hardware
I had this problem yesterday, was trying to play SH2 Remake but had huge FPS dips to 15 fps constantly, i turned off SAM and Resize Bar on my mobo setting, and now i have a great experience, 60 fps most of the time, the dips to below 60 feel more natural (when there is lot of enemies) i'm going to try my rig on other games after i finish SH2 configs below
6600xt
RYzen 5 3600xt
32gbs ram 2400mhz
a320m mobo
same gpu and when rebar is enabled it eats my whole vram in games since i disabled it vram usage in rdr2 dropped from 8gb to 5.5gb
