Wizards have their own equivalent product, and wouldn't want competition coming from one of their own licensed products without microtransactions/ongoing income. Makes sense to me.

That’s a totally different thing. That’s meant for less tech savvy/mod savvy folks. Using a map editor for a game is different than virtual tabletop. The later has existed for quite awhile, before BG3.

Also Larian themselves said they personally refused to release a map editor.

I know it’s hip and cool and popular to rag on Hasbro, but don’t give Larian a pass just so you can attack Hasbro.

I think the argument could be made that somebody could use this mod to unlock the editing tools and then create a user friendly DND table builder.

Kind of like how DOTA was to world of Warcraft.

Uh ... what?

That’s a lot of maybes and possiblys. Really stretching hard there, ain’t ye bud?

Once again, Larian has stated it was solely their choice, as the DOS2 tools were buggy and unpopular.

Baldurs Gate 3 is not an aquivalent to a VTT. People really need to stop with this delusion and actually DM a game of DnD themselves, then they would realize why this is dumb.
