2i2 4th gen headphone amp horrible sound glitch happening ocasionally

I recently bought a new 2i2 4th Gen and I’m experiencing the exact same issue. I’m still trying to figure out what exactly triggers it.

so i figured something out, i play android games on my pc with LD Player, occasionally when i close the LD player app, that is what seems to be triggering it. pay attention and see if happens when you close a window and maybe take note of what it was, than send a message to them about it.. this is probably our best bet..

I also have the same issue. It happens when I leave my computer and afk for a while, without touching the mouse or typing, or even playing music. When I back and open Youtube, it starts to distort, and sometimes it has no sound at all! It distorts at the buffet size of 256, and no sound at buffer size 64, not sure why.

To fix this, I changed the buffer size to a random number, and it is backs to normal (maybe OP you can try this), unplug and plugin again also works.

This is really annoying because there is no issue with the Focusrite 2i2 3rd gen that I just sold it to upgrade to 4th gen :'(

mine happens sometimes when i am using the ld player android emulator and i close the emulator. ever time it happens the second i close that software.. it strange, did you get the latest firmware, there was just a update, not sure if it fixed it or not but i would contact them and let them know about your problem

I think it’s something related to other audio hardware connected to the pc in my case but I am not sure. This is so annoying. It seems someone hacked their entire product.

I'm not having any major problems with mine but mine always happens when I'm playing an Android game on LD player which allows you to play Android games on your PC and as soon as I close it maybe one out of 100 times at glitches out on right when I close that program..

Now I had a few different interfaces installed a whole bunch of plugins and whatnot the only thing that seems to be affecting it for me is that one program so yes it's got to be something else installed on the computer that it doesn't seem to like

I figured out what's doing it for me but I don't know what's doing it for other people or how many people are actually having the issue because there seems to be a lot of people with zero issue and some people with the issues so it's weird but it would be nice if they would fix it out I mean my third generation never had this kind of thing happen but before generation is much nicer

im still having this issue and it's nearly december 2024
i dont have AVG like some mentioned

i dont have LD Player like you

for me its opening or closing video games using easy anti cheat

and occasionally chrome

edit: it also happens sometimes when i alt tab

how frustrating

edit 2: sorry to resurect your ancient post

Mine hasn't done this in a long time, I think this is due to some sort of driver issue where something on your computer doesn't like the drivers on your scarlet

Having the same issue, it just randomly starts making a wild distorted noise until I unplug and replug it. Currently using USB-C to USB-C on my PC. Curious if anyone has found a fix

I found out what's causing mine I use LD player which is a Android emulator so you can do Android games and apps on your PC well anytime I close that application or I should say occasionally when I close at the second I hit the x button and close it down it starts it's only done this five or six times but it's something to do with closing that particular piece of software that's causing it to happen for me so I think it's just kind of a weird software or a hardware conflict, I'm guessing those of you who are having this problem there's probably something on your computer that it doesn't like I have let focus right know what is causing it for me and they just said yeah it sounds like maybe that program is not compatible with our drivers or something so hopefully they'll work on getting some drivers out to fix the issue

This only happens to me occasionally but it does happen
