Which processor to choose in preparation for the future 5090
I originally planned on buying a i9-14900K, then all the Intel stuff happened, so I thought of a i9-12900k. But wouldn´t the 5090 bottleneck the CPU going down to 12th gen? Is it really that much of a bad idea to get a 14th gen, even knowing its issues? Do you recommend AMD processor with the 5090?
Btw, I´m building the PC for 3D high-end simulations, that´s why I´m interested in the 5090
Definitely don't go lga1700 now. Wait for core ultra 200 next month and then decide probably between a 285k and a 9950x depending on benchmarks.
Also the 9800X3D looks like it'll release sometime late October or early November.
You should consider the 9950x instead of the 14900k.
Edit: forgot about the Intel CPUs coming, wait for reviews before deciding.
I get it, AMD sucked for a decade and a bunch of shit never worked right. It's better then Intel now. Fuck Intel for this bullshit anyway, terrible response, and Zen kicks it's ass in every way possible.
7800x3d or 7950x3d, both cheaper and gamings #1 chips and dont heat the house.
By the time the 5090 comes out 15th gen should be out and the 9950X is also another great CPU.
Nah don't go AMD they only currently have the best performing CPUs on the market. Better to stick with Intel and their faulty LGA1700 socket and pay more for less performance. AMD Couldnt possibly be a consideration before going back two generations of Intel chips as alternate considerations to the 14900k.

7800x3d or future 9800x3d coming soon. Am5 has more life left, new releases till 2027. You can then upgrade the cpu later.
Either go with the ryzen 9950x right now or wait for core ultra and the 9000X3D chips.
9950x/ upcoming Intel 9 series cpu. Purchase based on performance once the new CPUs drops
9800x3d soon to be released. or 7800x3
