The Lotus Eaters is a short solo-only main Quest, released in Update 36.1 (2024-08-21). The Lotus receives a call from The Man in the Wall and instructs only the Drifter to answer. The Quest serves as a prologue to The Hex.

The player must have completed Whispers in the Walls.
Investigate The Sound[]
At Sanctum Anatomica, the Tenno approach the Void expanse behind the defeated The Man in the Wall's Vessel, encountering the Lotus waiting at the edge with a ringing KinePage. The Operator and Drifter appear simultaneously as the Lotus warns the former that she is being affected by The Man in the Wall and instructs only the latter to answer the call.
The Drifter is warped to an abandoned mall and encounter Albrecht Entrati's pet Kavat Kalymos, who leads them to another ringing pager. They are warped back to the present as the Lotus acknowledges they have created a link to the past and must find Albrecht before The Man in the Wall does, completing the quest.
The player will receive an inbox message from Loid who is almost finished with preparations to send the Tenno to the city of Höllvania in 1999 with the help of Albrecht's Vessels, containing Arthur's KinePage Orbiter Decoration. The Lotus remains in her spot in the Sanctum Anatomica, monologuing to herself.

- Compared to the TennoCon 2024 relay no members of The Hex appear in the mall, and the stage playing PARTY OF YOUR LIFETIME instead displays the icon of the Lidless Eye with no other sound.

5 lines of dialogue that explain nothing, follow a cat for one minute, and that's it?
Calling it a quest is like calling myself commenting here "working hard".

"prelude" doesn't mean "glorified 5 sentence long gameplay experience". it means literally "prologue", and a prologue can be as long as wanted. no, the problem isn't "prelude", it's them even using the word "quest" to describe that. a codex entry, an ingame message, a short yt video, these descriptions fit better. It's literally nothing more than what should be a 2 minute cutscene.
Or hell, let's even go back a step and just say: This shit could have been the very first part of the 'main' quest, once it's all released. Still a 'prelude' but then you get to jump right back into it at your earliest convenience, and complete the rest of the events.
I honestly feel so offended that this is a 'Quest' and for what.. 1 decoration that beeped at me as soon as I placed it down, giving me a random line of text?
It's a GAME dude, get a life. It's not as stupid as someone stated Warframe is a way of life. So if servers go offline, persons' life is over. Really?

Ignoring the fact that this was just over 3 months ago, and I didn't know she had additional lines afterward because I was (and still am currently) in a Warfarme hiatus...that was a tad condescending.

Yeah, that was a nice touch, as minor as it was.
I did enjoy it as well. While they ARE stand-ins for us and each other. I would like to see them get fleshed out, so not only do we play as ourselves as The Chosen Operator or Drifter, but also as a actually fleshed out character.

I think It is because the Operator is our true form and Drifter is an alt timeline void duplicate version and the Lotus says The Indifference wants us to the Operator specifically so the Drifter would have more freedom to meddle in things not being the real deal

That and the fact that we are getting another update in couple months too, so I don't people expected, I thought it was going to be similar to the prelude to war and I was right, so I don't see an issue with the quest as short as it is

When you open a Void Relic, if the reward drops a Forma blueprint, it will drop 2 instead of 1 as long as it's silver tier.
