Go to buildapc
On Windows 10 and 11, you can use the Xbox Game Bar, which should be preinstalled.
How to:
Check whether the Xbox Game bar is activated by opening Settings, going to the "Gaming" section and checking whether the Game Bar is "on"
Use the Win+G shortcut to open the app
Look for an icon with a monitor and click on that
Pin that window and drag it wherever you want to
It will stay on screen until you open the Xbox Game Bar again and unpin the window
wow! Thank you I had no idea about the shortcut!
I was looking for a simple, discreete and precise counter. This absolutely seems to fit the bill. Thanks.

is it just me or you can't use your keyboard while that app is pinned? (every key you press something from the xbox app pops up)

RivaTuner.
or Radeon overlay for AMD gpu.
or GeForce experience for Nvidia gpu.
its an APU so I'm assuming AMD
Ryzen 5600 G
if you just want to show FPS, many games have built in fps counters. steam also has a built in fps counter overlay.
if you want to measure and log it, then use rivatuner/RTSS (which comes bundled with MSI afterburner)
this app works like warm doodoobutter for me
