Qi wireless charging is sweet. Also new customizable scroll wheel. I think you can use Synapse to change how the scroll works, like notched (like a traditional scroll wheel) or free-moving, but it seemed on the screenshots like you can go somewhere in between?

It's not as free-moving as Logitech's infinite/hyper scrolling, which allows the wheel to glide without resistance.

To answer OP, it's

The Razer Naga V2 Pro does not currently support 4,000Hz mode, despite media outlets suggesting it does. I'm hoping they can do some firmware/driver magic to enable that.

Well you can grab the pro for like 99$ which is a pretty decent deal. I just picked up the v1 and it might be my favorite all purpose mouse

Trying to get my wife to pick one up for me as a Christmas gift. Came here looking for info on if I was shooting myself in the foot trying to save some cash with the older model, sounds like I won't be missing anything other than maybe the wireless charging

As someone with the V1, I have no reason to buy the V2. You will not see any benefit other than the scroll wheel differences in any MMO game you play. If you are playing other games then maybe you might. If you mainly play MMOs the new Hyperspeed might be the best mouse to get since the 2 buttons near the left mouse click are much better placed than on either Pro V1 or Pro V2. The V1 Pro remains an excellent mouse for all gaming really and its battery life and versatility is great.

Makes me want to buy a backup V1 just in case. I have a lot of nagas.... Maybe get the hyperspeed. I have convinced myself that the V2 is not worth it to me.

How long have you had the mouse? I bought a naga pro v1 brand new and out of the box it was already defective. From what I've read from reviews on forums and buyers on Amazon the mouse is prone to breaking within a few months especially if you switch the faces on it constantly. Also, Razer won't cover it under a warranty.

I have a Razer Tatarus Pro, a Corsair keyboard and multiple Logitech G600 mice. The G600 mice are the best MMO mice imo simply because it has way more customisable keys (all 12 side buttons can be bound twice with the G-shift key).

However, I also find that having peripherals from different brands is a pain when it comes to RGB control and RGB related issues. Not to mention Logitech G Hub just breaks everything with every single update. Just checkout their Reddit - every month, every update they break something.

Which is why now I am considering just changing everything to Razer. I had bad experiences with Razer mice before (that was way back when they started being a thing) but am hoping now maybe they are better. I am considering Razer over other bransa because (1) Their Razer Naga has middle mouse tilt keybinds - no other mouse besides Logitech or EVGA has them surprisingly); (2) Their Tartarus Pro is so useful and I do not see other brands having a competitor product.
