Its extrodinarily simple - a single AT command will change the IMEI permanently. Before running the command, I suggest that you write down your factory IMEI and keep it somewhere safe as there is no way to automatically reset the IMEI back to the factory default.

Log into your X3000's GUI. On the main dashboard, select the Modem Management button (wrench+screwdriver icon) in the upper-right corner of the cell status, change "Shortcut" to Manual command and enter the following into the "AT command" box:

AT+EGMR=1,7,"012345678901234"

**Note: change 012345678901234 to your new IMEI.

Then, press the SEND button. It'll come back with an OK. And then reboot your X3000. Log in again and verify that your new IMEI is in place. That's it.

Thank you very much

Is there a way to change device name too. I got it the imei changed but T-Mobile took a month and then throttled the data again. Is there anything I can do so it doesn’t show on account then somehow re add. When I login to my tmo acct it shows the correct imei but it still thinks it’s a home router which then tells them to throttle It. The imei I borrowed was from a iPhone 14. I can tell you it lasted longer after the imei change before Thorpe but they got me again. Any suggestions???

I just bought the Gli-Net GL-X3000, I've updated the FW, per other threads for TMHI access, before I messed with the TM sim I wanted to get the freebie sim that it came with: 1GB of data from “EIOT club” with which I wanted to sanity check the box with. Anyone get one of these and tried to get it working?

If I use the TMHI sim in the stupid black box, do I have to change the imei?

Thanks!

I always get error when I hit send. How can I verify it changed the emei?

I have repeatedly changed the IMEI in the past but now it will not change. I enter the AT+EGMR=1,7,"imei" command, re-boot and it remains same as before. Why?
