Argo & Vel is a Duviri Mace and Shield weapon similar to the shield wielded by Dax Malleus. Its unique Heavy Attacks hurl an energy glaive that bounces off surfaces or enemies once before returning to the user.
Characteristics[]
- This weapon deals primarily
Slash damage.
- Unique Heavy Attack throws a glaive projectile that ricochets off surfaces once before flying back to the user.
- The glaive and its AoE have a 3x damage multiplier.
- Glaive is considered a heavy attack and benefits from heavy attack related mods.
- If the glaive hits an enemy, it will ricochet towards 1 other nearby enemy.
- As a Warframe, blocking ranged attacks has a chance to stagger the attacker, and blocking melee attacks has a much higher counter chance
Drifter Combat[]
- Power Strike (blocking + heavy attack, default RMB + MMB ) performs a charged swing that inflicts
Slash. Perfect parrying resets Power Strike cooldown.
Advantages over other Melee weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- High crit chance (32.00%)
- Very high total damage (300)
- High crit multiplier (2.40x)
- Heavy Attack Glaive (wiki attack index 2)
- Very high crit chance (32.00%)
- High crit multiplier (2.40x)
- Heavy Attack Glaive AoE (wiki attack index 3)
- High crit chance (32.00%)
- Above average crit multiplier (2.40x)
Disadvantages over other Melee weapons (excluding modular weapons):
- Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
- Very low attack speed (0.80x animation speed)
- Low disposition (●●●○○ (1.00x))
- Heavy Attack Glaive (wiki attack index 2)
- Below average total damage (200)
- Very low attack speed (0.80x animation speed)
- Below average disposition (●●●○○ (1.00x))
- Heavy Attack Glaive AoE (wiki attack index 3)
- Low active falloff slope (7.5m/%)
- Very low maximum falloff distance (3.0 m)
- Low total damage (100)
- Very low attack speed (0.80x animation speed)
- Low disposition (●●●○○ (1.00x))
See WARFRAME Wiki:Stat Comparison/Percentiles for more details.
Acquisition[]
The Blueprint for Argo & Vel can be purchased in Teshin's Cave for 60 Pathos Clamp or
225. Purchasing using the former will unlock the Drifter-compatible version and the blueprint for a Warframe-compatible version; purchasing using the latter will unlock both versions.
Additional copies can be purchased from Cephalon Simaris for 100,000.

A weird thing that I noticed is that when blocking, it will give you one stack of the Silva and Aegis buff, but only one stack.
While I'm still upset that Styanax can't use Axios & Tharros as an Exalted melee, the Argo & Vel more than make up for it.
Worth noting that the heavy slams of this weapon deal impact and slash like the main attack, instead of pure blast. So you can get some nasty aoe slash with this thing.
Oh god. I'll be cooking today.
DE logic:
Bonk with shield = 80% slash
Hespar = 48% slash
Why DE hate heavy scythe so much?
There are some unwritten things about this weapon, such as its blocks cause stagger/stun on enemies firing upon it and that the glaive from heavy attacks does not reap any benefit from Condition Overload.
Looks like Kullervo has a new Wrathful Advance toy :D
Now I can be a proper Sentinel Titan
What exactly does the drifter power attack do? can't really tell, but it doesn't seem to do anything special like the others
On its own, nothing special, just Bleed. The gimmick with this weapon is instead tied to blocking for Drifter: You can reduce the power attack cooldown on successful parries.
If it also had a special effect on a power attack matching other Drifter weapons, the fact that you could power attack more often would make it the best one by a mile.
Blueprint doesn't show up at Simaris after unlocking it like the other Duviri Drifter weapons do.
Meanwhile the Sugatra still floats like 20 cm away from the mace.
Pretty good weapon though.
With a regular viral/slash button mashing build it keeps doing work long into SP survival on Lua.
Who tf uses sugatras anyway
People who aren't losers^
In other words thoses weirdos that nobody wants to play with because they are cringe and are worse than losers
No need to be salty about being poor
So like most sword and shield weapons, I see a buff icon appear after blocking, but I can't really identify what the buff is doing. Anyone manage to identify the effect yet?
The more damage you block, the more damage you deal with your next strike.
So its just damage then. Alright. It differs between shields so was curious what stat it actually affected as I can't find it listed anywhere.
A sharp mace coupled with a forcefield generator, neat!
So, what's the deal with the ugly ass cylinder that attaches the shield to the wrist?
It's like that one part of a model someone forgot to paint.
Glaive doesnt bounce much but seems like it can hurt you. Picked this in circuit and while still in cave nearly killed myself. I expect thats not intended and will be patched soon, but when i built this and used it in missions, it didnt feel like anything special.
Totally killed myself just now in simulacrum. Dont heavy attack things in your face, glaive can bounce to you.
Heavy attack doesnt have any explosion component like a glaive. It doesnt force and procs, but can proc what its modded for, like viral or its innate slash.
Ok i kept testing it and its growing on me. Its not bad, glaive is pretty accurate and can hit things 45+ meters away, but damage seems to start falling off at 15-20+
Can bounce about 6 times, and can headshot and benefits from doing so.
The gliding forward attack doesnt throw the shield like it does with other sns weapons, nor could i find any other combo that throws anything, just the heavy attack.
Overall not bad, but for a heavy attack spam with range it doesnt feel comparable to a proper glaive or gunblade so far.
So don't mod it and self damage is back, baby.
How is the actual glaive shield-throw? Is it any better than...you know, just using a glaive to begin with?
No? The AOE is small. The projectile lifetime seems short and whatever homing it has is weak, so it ricocheting doesn't really do all that much. All there is to take advantage of is the fact that it's a projectile so there's no follow-through loss, but you need a way to group enemies.
Seems like using the throwing attack resets combo.
Yes. it is a heavy attack after all.
Half of the SnS weapons already throw their shield. All the duviri weapons got a new gimmick but this.
Except this is the only one that does it on the ground, and its glaive shot actually bounces.
But if you want a "ranged" melee... just use a glaive?
Does anybody can drop a screenshot with resources needed for this weapon?
