Help for those unable to get Convergence mod to start!
I struggled to get the convergence mod to open, and there doesn’t seem to be a ton of information around troubleshooting beyond “make sure steam is open”. If you are unable to open the game through launcheldenring.bat file, it could be because of where your elden ring files are stored. The bat command only seems to search your default drive for the game. If you have steam installed on your default (C:) drive, and elden ring on a different drive, the .bat window will open for a split second, then nothing happens.
Try moving your elden ring files to your C: drive. (You can do this through steam). After this the game opened no problem. I’m unsure if it needs to be your C: drive or just whatever drive steam is installed on, but try this and see if it helps.

I had to move the ConvergenceER folder to Elden Ring's Game folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game. The .bat file then opened Elden Ring as expected. Running as admin wasn't necessary.

ive come to the conclusion the mod just doesnt work ive tried everything gone down every reddit rabbithole and discord conversation and nothing its ridiculous mod obvs dosent work

What's your issue?? I'm having one too. I own SOTE and have it installed but when I try to download the convergence launcher, it says 'required files needed: shadow of the erdtree'
Imma be honest I have no clue how any of this stuff works, I don’t know computers all that well but I got mine to work after messing with it for a few minutes and I’ve downloaded multiple mods in my same save file directory and I’ve managed to salvage them all with no issues. I’ve deleted many mods and redownload them and bam my old save file loads as if it only exists on said mod. I have convergence, seamless, randomizer, graceborne and rebirth or whatever the last overhaul on nexus mods is. I don’t use the official mod menu either, I load files manually and take them out manually. It sounds like a hassle but it’s not too hard. Honestly for everyone having issues I recommend just deleting your modded saves, keeping your save for Elden ring but reverify the files, once everything clean download convergence. It’ll ask you to do stuff blah blah blah just download that bih in your game directory, it says don’t but do it anyway. Start the game through mod engine that will download automatically through convergence. Don’t use same save files for different modded play through sunless you’re combining. I’ve done randomizer and seamless and that was hard enough to get working I couldn’t imagine trying to keep the save file. If you play Elden ring enough starting over on modded shouldn’t be a big deal. If your plan it to just mod everything good luck. If you need help or got questions hmu, @Heizeyeah on discord. Again I’m not very smart but the fact I can get them all to work simultaneously on the same game directory says sum especially when they tell you not too 😂
My concergence download is always freezing with the official downloader…so there are still some problems with it 🥲
yeah i was lucky enough to not have that issue, some people have suggested running it as administrator? There seems to be no rhyme or reason why that happens though😅
I wonder if there’s a potential solution that gets the .bat file to look in a different location? No idea how all of the interactions work between mod and game at startup, but may be worth looking into for those who have a reason for moving their files away from the steam directory
I would assume its not too complicated to modify the .bat to search in a specific directory, but im just unfamiliar with the syntax
