PSA: If you want more rewards in post game, don’t kill Talos
SPOILER WARNING In post game you can use Wyrmslife crystals as currency to buy some of the best gear in the game, and a huge source of those crystals are 4 bosses in the overworld that drop 90 crystals each.
If you kill Talos yourself, a certain event happens in postgame and you only get to kill 2 bosses instead, which means a loss of 180 crystals you could use to obtain both a weapon and a chest piece.
To clarify, you shouldn’t try to stop Talos from reaching his destination. Even if it means he destroys part of the rest town on his way there
Edit: The people who are claiming to have taken Talos down early and still having the bosses doable are using the Preserved Medusas Head to turn Talos to stone, completely destroying him. This may be a good way of getting all the boss fights while still keeping the Volcanic Island town from being destroyed.
Nah i'll just kill more Drakes instead, don't wanna miss out jist for some item optimization
That’s totally fair. Honestly, I do recommend you see the talos event on your first or second run. This is just to let people who min max know they can earn more by just leaving him alone
Or just take a Thief or 2 and get double the Crystals for every fight if they manage to steal well. Was able to practically buy most weapons and a few gear sets for me and my pawn in about 5 hours of doing the endgame.
Also Talos will only kill 2 of the bosses if you kill him before his Arm is shot off, I killed him after this and he only went on to kill 1 of them. Still managed to buy everything i wanted with crystals by having a Thief the whole time
hold on so you actually get 2 extra fights if Talos isn't the one to kick their asses?

I wouldn’t stress too much, it’s really just to min max Wyrmslife crystals to get as much as possible as quickly as possible. The event that happens with Talos is pretty cool ngl
I killed Talos and still had like 6 bosses
Luckily when i got the godbane i went to longer route to volcanic island and had the cutscenes along the way, made me confused that did i fuck up something and saw the boss dying by the phaesus soldiers in the end when i made it to the Volcanic island.

I do not understand this post. I killed Talos, went to the unmoored world, and beat all 5 pillar bosses.
You can still kill talos, just don't go near it in unmoorned and the cutscene won't trigger
First time I played the game I had no idea the Talos did anything in postgame (might have killed it too slow). Now you're telling me it can kill two? I feel like when I beat the game a third time I'm going to find out there's a secret Talos pilot vocation...
There is, but only for your pawn ;)
or you simply grind some more drakes, each gives 15-20 crystals..pointless thread ...
In my experience, drakes give 10-15 crystals on average, rarely 20. But for arguments sake let’s say they drop 15 crystals every time you kill them. That’s still an average of 12 drakes you need to kill before obtaining as many crystals as 2 easy (imo) bosses. While farming drakes is absolutely doable, this method is without a doubt a lot faster for obtaining 180 crystals
I took down Talos infront of the town, but he is just not in my unmoored world at all? I'm pretty confused how this works as I thought he was supposed to show up regardless.
What bosses are you referring to? I'm trying to clean up stuff to do before finishing the game and want to make sure I dont miss out on these fights.
red beams in the ummoored worlds have bosses in them
Oh okay, so if you let Talos kill those dragons you don’t get the wyrm crystals associated?
I killed talos on volcanic island beach where the drake spawns and then he died again to the brinedragons with my pawn inside him. I still got 4 bosses in the unmoored world.
