Trivia[]
- Based on its appearance and description, this is almost certainly an iron ore. Its name is likely an Orokin or Ostron nomenclature based in the Latin word for iron, which is "ferrum".

Can you turn ferros into ferrite at all
So what's the difference between the existing Ferrite and the new Ferros?
ferrite is iron removed of impurities (whether this can occur naturally is debatable) while ferros is just iron straight from the ground which has numerous impurities
ferrite is actually an alloy of some kind (likely a carbon-iron alloy since its name is the same as the type of iron used in those alloys), which makes ferros probably just iron ore
Carbon iron alloy is called steel.
Hmm. From the name, it's quite obviously iron. The picture reminds me of magnetite, but those steps in it are more like the ones in sphalerite, which has much less iron and mostly mined as a zinc ore.
