ive been using 11 up to this point, apparently. gonna switch to 12 and see if i notice any dramatic shifts.
edit 1: in a curt 10 minute survival mission the only change i noticed was maybe a bit more chugging in the firsts 30 seconds of the mission.
edit 2: after a longer 20 minute survival same deal. a bit of chugging when i first spawn in the mission then a crisp 75 frames til i decided to leave.
DX11 but my RX580 is quite old and since DX12 is still experimental I have slightly worse performance (mostly some fps dips) while I have stable 60fps with DX11 at max settings.
My guess would be that your 3060 would perform on par or better with DX12 and I am pretty sure that Arc GPUs will definitely perform better on DX12.
Dx12 seems to stutter for me more often than i want that 11, but gave me stable fps.
DX12 for some reason causes weird flickers and screen flashes on my end (using RTX 4090 with i9 13900K cpu), lot of similar instances are detailed here. DX11 seems to have a bit less of that but the tradeoff is that my CPU usage skyrockets when loading into pretty much any instance, so all my PC's fans ramp up to max for a few seconds lol.
DX12, I get noticeably higher frame rates and faster loading, though it does seem like shaders have to be generated during gameplay with DX12.
That being said, none of those are the reason I use it. The real reason I use it is for HDR. HDR is the biggest visual improvement that game has received so far for people playing on a VESA HDR1000 rated display or on a good OLED display. FSR and DLSS are also very nice to have.
My i7 3770k (no OC) was having issues keeping up with more modern content. DX12 gave me an up to 30% FPS increase.
Is not about using DirectX is about games using it.
If the game was not made for DX10 or 11 or 12 and only 9 it can use only 1 of it and it will never achieve DX12 performance if the game supports only 10.
You're right about this. But one of the reasons that I'm asking this question is because how DE optimizes things and in my opinion they are pretty good at this. Especially after i saw the mobile version which look pretty good in my opinion too (It almost made me switch to Apple at some point). and yes i like the idea of playing warframe at such portability
My launcher doesn't allow me to switch off of dx12 for some reason, and I can't be arsed to search the why and how. Performance good, game buggy, classic Warframe.

idk, feels about the same to me.
Please let me know about your opinion
