when does the effect of new journey+ start?
so i just beat the game and i started new journey plus and i just got BD-1 i dont have all the 9 stims and i dont have the echo's or the skills so does it kick in later in the game or do i have to get everything?
New Journey+ happens right when the game starts. It transfers over the ponchos, BD-1 skins, etc. You will still have to collect the stims, echoes, and skills because it’d break progression otherwise.
In New journey+ you get to keep all of Cal's:
Outfits
Ponchos
Kyber crystals and Lightsaber parts
BD-1 skins
Stinger Mantis skins
Plus you get access to:
Cal's Inquisitor outfit
Red kyber crystal
However some things are reset and have to be collected again:
Force echoes
Force and Life Essences
Stims
BD-1 scans and scomp link
Doublesaber upgrade
Terrarium seeds
Force abilities (push, pull and double jump)
All skill tree points and upgrades
Basically anything purely cosmetic is kept, if it affects gameplay it will not be kept.
It's not really a New Game +, you only get the cosmetic stuff.
New journey plus only lets you keep your cosmetics nothing else

am i the only one that doesn't see the point in this? i would like a red lightsaber in my original game not on a new game in which i have to play through again. also the inquisitor outfit isn't even that good
New journey plus is pointless.
Kind of stupid that it blatantly states “keep all your skills/combat abilities.” Lies. Also, I see people stating that you keep your double jump and push/pull. However I just started last night for a couple minutes, and I’m still in the first stage, and have none of this. I understand not having the force abilities because you don’t have any combat abilities in the first stage, but no double jump yet either? I’m guessing the jump/push/pull kick in after you leave the scrap yard/intro stage, which I believe is essentially what the OP is wondering about
