Plex Music and Tidal

Help

Hello, I have Plex Pass and it gives me the option to link Tidal and access to all those songs. Would only I have that access or would the people who have access to my library have that access? thanks

An Intro to Tidal With Plex | Plex Support > Frequently Asked Questions:

If I link/add a TIDAL subscription to my account, is it shared with other users?

Having a TIDAL subscription linked to a Plex account is a 1:1 relationship. The Plex account to which it is linked will have access to TIDAL content. Other Plex accounts (including Plex Home members) will not have access to TIDAL.

If you already have a “Family” TIDAL plan through TIDAL, you can link to a different Plex account for each of the available TIDAL members. (See information on how to link to an existing subscription in our Adding TIDAL Subscriptions to Plex article.)

Why would anyone want this? If you have a Tidal account, why would you listen to Tidal via Plex? Wouldn't you just listen to Tidal via... Tidal?

Edit: I guess fuck me for asking about something.

The tidal app for Android is dog shit plus having local files of an artist then seeing their new EPS or singles you may not have.

What others have said about expanding your existing music library, but also all of the discovery features, augmenting radios in Plexamp (like artist radio etc) with TIDAL content, DJ Doppelgänger in Plexamp, seeing Super Sonic recommendations etc.

The integration is actually really nice. No other service manages to blend your personal collection with an online source quite as well as Plex + TIDAL does imho. I've been a subscriber for years.

I honestly can't see any reason to do this - I don't mind the Tidal UX that much and what this means is that I need every member to pay $10/month for music access, when 6 members can get access for $17 through the Tidal family plan. It's just ridiculous.

I know you kinda got your answer but I have just started using Plex and love that you can listen to the music from/realated to the film you just watched. Saves you a ton of searching / Shazaaming and some films have songs you just want to listen to again immediately.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing and in come the down votes. I was also thinking, who actually uses Tidal?
