these commentors are wrong, you are fine daisy chaining one with the split ends
Yeah, two is perfectly fine for a 315W card. Even if the cables are made to the minimum possible spec (and they're most likely not since most PSUs use overspec cables these days), each cable is good for at least 150W, and the slot is good for another 75W.
150 + 150 + 75 = 375
375 > 315
I'm pretty sure there are only three connectors to make sure no one tries to run the card on a single daisy-chain, which would be possible with only two and could potentially be a safety hazard.
My 6950XT and my 3080 FTW3 Ultra are both running off two cables into three ports and have been for a while.
its fine, i have a 7900xtx and rtx 2070 daisy chained with a i9 10850k under a bequiet dark power pro 850 it can still pull over the 375w max power limit, occasionally hitting 400+, no bluescreen, restarts
I am running an ASUS TUF 7900XT OC with the same setup you are talking about it runs absolutely fine with 2 cables.
That power supply is fine. The UD GM and AP GM are both fine. It's the older P GM that had issues. By the way, any 850 watt power supply you get is going to have two pcie cables each with two daisy chained connectors. This is the normal configuration of a power supply.
